😉 Greetings, friends! To my shame, I recently learned about an amazing person – Ezio Bosso!
About two years ago I accidentally watched the video “San Remo – 2016”: a man in a wheelchair appears on the stage. The audience warmly welcomes him. This person says something emotionally, gesturing with his hands … then he sings a wonderful melody on the piano …
Looking at the performer, many viewers have tears. The audience gives a long standing ovation. I am delighted! I’m shocked! Who is this unusual musician? I wanted to know more about this man.
Ezio Bosso: biography
Everything that I managed to find out about the musician:
Ezio Bosso is a pianist, conductor and composer, one of the finest musicians of our time. Was born in Turin (Italy) in 1971.
When the boy was four years old, not yet knowing the letters, he could read scores. He was called a young genius and predicted a brilliant future. Educated in Vienna.
The prediction came true – at the age of sixteen, Bosso made his debut in Paris as a soloist, and since then he practically never returned to Turin: he performed with the best orchestras in the world and was applauded in the most famous theaters of all continents.
Bosso lived in London for several years, was the Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of The London Strings. He wrote a lot of music, created a lot of compositions, but he published his first album “12 Rooms” only in 2015. But everything ended in an instant!
Disease
In 2011, Ezio was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. In the same year, he underwent brain surgery. The operation did not bring significant success. Alas, this terrible and painful disease is incurable, it gradually paralyzes the human body.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) (also known as motor neuron disease, Charcot’s disease). It is a slowly progressive, incurable degenerative disease of the central nervous system. Both the upper and lower motor neurons are affected, resulting in paralysis and subsequent muscle atrophy.
It is characterized by progressive damage to motor neurons, accompanied by paralysis (paresis) of the limbs and muscle atrophy. Death occurs from respiratory tract infections or respiratory muscle failure. ALS is a rare condition. The disease was first described in 1869 by Jean-Martin Charcot.
How does a person feel upon learning that he is seriously ill? How does he manage to find the strength to live, fight, write music? Nobody knows. But he does it!
From an interview with Bosso: “In an instant I lost everything: speech, music. I played and cried, months and months I could not write anything. Music was no longer a part of my life, it was far away, I could not catch it.
And I realized that I could live without her. It wasn’t terrible. It was different, it was a different experience. I realized that music is a part of me, but it is not me. I am in her service.
Now I find it difficult to talk, I can no longer run, but I can still play. And the very moment my fingers touch the keys, I forget about my problems. ”
Here’s the story, friends …
If you find it difficult today, remember Ezio, who every day found the strength to fight on. In this he was helped by a strong will, love for music and for life … Many wished this handsome man less physical and mental pain, more good music and not to leave this world for a long, long time …
Sad news
On May 15, 2020, the life of the composer and pianist Ezio Bosso was cut short … He was 48 years old! Sorry to the pain, but we know that Ezio will continue to live in his music. Music is immortal!
