Eyebrow Magic: Which Shape Will Fit Your Face Type

Eyebrow Magic: Which Shape Will Fit Your Face Type

Makeup artist Yulia Lyubitova told Wday.ru about the rules for choosing the shape of eyebrows for women with oval, round and other types of face.

We all want to always look beautiful, well-groomed and feel confident. Often we try to repeat the images of the stars, but the result does not suit us. The same thing happens when we try to keep up with fashion trends.

In the early 2000s, narrow eyebrow strings were in vogue, which is why tweezers and string became our best friends. And after 2010, the trend for thick, natural eyebrows began to gain popularity. Instantly, everyone began to grow them, inspired by the appearance of Cara Delevingne. 10 years have passed since then, and many still have not found their ideal eyebrow shape. We suggest you fix this as soon as possible.

What to look for when choosing an eyebrow shape

We will take as a basis the shape of the face, the shape of the eyes and the general geometry of the face. Here are some basic rules:

  1. The eyebrow should not be shorter than the length of your eye.

  2. The eyebrow starts parallel to the beginning of the eye.

  3. The most intense color of the eyebrow falls on its break; the beginning of the eyebrow can in no way be darker than its bend and tail.

  4. We select the color of the eyebrows both for the color of the hair roots, and for the color of medium length (near the face).

Eyebrows for every type of face

There are many types of faces. However, we will highlight the main six: oval, square, round, heart-shaped, diamond-shaped and long.

Oval face type

Let’s start with a “classic” face – an oval one. The shape is considered ideal, so almost any eyebrows go to the owners of such a face. For example, straight, with a slight bend (it can be made more accent).

For comparison: Megan Fox has smaller eyes than Jessica Alba, so thinner eyebrows suit her. The wider your eye is, the wider your eyebrows can be.

The main difference between the square face is the massive forehead and lower jaw. They visually balance each other, so the task of the eyebrows is to make the face lighter and add smooth lines. Curved eyebrows with a pronounced break are perfect for this type.

Round face type

For a round face, brows with a slight curve are perfect. Predominantly straight lines will bring harmony. Do not get carried away with the width of the eyebrows, as options that are too wide will weigh down the image, and too narrow will not help balance it.

Heart-shaped face type

The heart-shaped face is distinguished by a pronounced lower part of the face – a sharp chin and cheekbones. For this type, eyebrows with a slight break are perfect. Do not make too wide or thick eyebrows, they can visually make the forehead heavier.

Diamond-shaped face type

The owner of a diamond-shaped face should give up eyebrows with sharp transitions and sharp breaks. Make the lines as smooth as possible to soften the angularity of the face.

Elongated face type

The elongated face has a high forehead and a narrow chin. Straight eyebrows, possibly with a slight break, will perfectly balance all parts of the face.

It is worth remembering that we select eyebrows based not only on the type of face. Also consider the shape of your eyes, nose, and lips. If the eyes are set close, you can move the eyebrows slightly apart to balance the gaze. Conversely, if the eyes are set far away, the eyebrows should be brought closer together.

Do not forget that the tip of the eyebrows often tends to the temple, and the most intense color should be in the fracture and ponytail. If you are the owner of miniature facial features (eyes, nose and lips), then wide and thick eyebrows are not for you. Eyebrows are the frame of the face, so choosing it correctly will ensure harmony and beauty.
