Eye augmentation with makeup: step by step instructions

Eyes that are too small, deep-set, or narrow may appear expressionless. Your task is to add brightness and shine to them, visually raise an eyebrow, make the eyes more noticeable and effective. Do not neglect the little things, sometimes the color or texture of the eyeshadow, a small touch of eyeliner or waterproof pencil, the right mascara can play a decisive role. Try a few tricks, after experimenting, you can choose the option that suits you.

To prepare for makeup, you will need:

  • Base makeup

  • tonic

  • concealer

  • crumbly powder

  • Eyebrow Tweezers

  • eyebrow wax or shadow

Prepare your skin before you start applying eyeshadow and eyeliner.

  1. Clean your eyelids with a swab dipped in a mild tonic.

  2. Then apply a non-greasy silicone base. This tool will keep the shadows bright and prevent them from rolling. Use your fingertips to punch in the foundation and let it absorb.

  3. Treat the skin under the eyes with a yellowish concealer. It will hide redness, bruises, make wrinkles and bags under the eyes less noticeable. Blend the concealer gently.

  4. Then dust your skin with a loose, translucent powder. Brush off the excess with a flat brush.

  5. To visually open your eyes, tidy your eyebrows. Remove the hairs at the bottom of the arch, keeping it natural. Accentuate your brows with colored wax or eye shadow, choosing a shade half a tone darker than your natural tone. Don’t dye your eyebrows too dark, they will look too heavy and make your eyes look smaller.

If there are noticeable puffiness under the eyes, use a lifting foundation. A skin tightening serum can be applied instead.

How to enlarge your eyes with shadows

This can be done in several ways. Most often, they resort to the use of light shiny shadows, they visually make the eyes larger and brighter.

For makeup choose:

  • base shadows of a suitable shade

  • dark shadows

  • white waterproof pencil

  • brushes and applicators

  • lengthening mascara

1. Choose base shadows depending on eye color. Green the iris will be set off by means of the color of moss or light ocher, brown shades of khaki or mocha are suitable, голубые the eyes will be emphasized by the ash-gray scale. The eyeshadow can be powdery, gel or cream. Dry skin is more suitable for soft creamy textures, for oily skin – a gel that quickly fixes on the eyelids. If you prefer a classic powdery eyeshadow, choose a satin texture or a micro-glitter product. The delicate glow visually enlarges the eyes and adds brightness to the iris.

2. Blend shadows on the movable eyelidrubbing them with an applicator, flat brush, or fingertips. Make sure that the makeup layer is sufficiently dense and even. Move from the bridge of the nose to the outer corners of the eyes, and then blend the shadow towards the eyebrow.

3. Under the eyebrows, apply some light highlighter or pearlescent pinkish eyeshadows. Rub them well so that only a hint of color remains.

4. In the crease of the eyelid, add some shadows of a darker shade. and blend them well. Darken the outer corner of the eye slightly.

5. Draw the inner eyelid with a white pearl pencil.

6. Paint your eyelashes with lengthening black mascara, dark gray or brown. Apply mascara using a brushing motion from roots to ends, gently pressing down on the hairs with the brush. This technique will help fix the curl. It is better not to dye the lower eyelashes.this will make your eyes look bigger.

Do not use black pencils for mucosal liners. They greatly narrow the eyes, and make the look hard.

Working with eyeliner: makeup for special occasions

An impressive effect can be achieved with a dark eyeliner. Skillfully applying it to the upper and lower eyelids, you will make your eyes brighter and larger. This technique is especially good for slightly slanted eyes. In addition, makeup with dark eyeliner makes the face look more graceful and thin.

You will need:

  • black eyeliner

  • dark creamy eyeliner

  • thin flat brush

  • cotton buds

  • voluminous black mascara

1. Lift the upper eyelid and draw a line along the roots of the eyelashes with a pencil, indicating an arrow. Start in the middle of the eyelid, draw a line to the outer corner of the eye, and then draw an arrow to the inner corner. Draw some eyeliner on the brush and draw a line over the pencil outline.

2. Then take more eyeliner and apply a thicker arrow. Apply the eyeliner in layers, gradually covering the entire movable eyelid. Apply a very light stroke along the lower lash line and then quickly rub it with a cotton swab. The lower eyelid should be only slightly tinted.

3. Use voluminous black mascara on the upper lashes, then highlight the lower lashes at the outer corners of the eyes.

Lifehacks of a beauty editor

– “Cat eye makeup” I consider one of the most advantageous options both for a casual look and for a party. I prefer to use liquid eyeliner, with which I draw a graphical arrow. Important: the arrow should not start from the inner corner, but from the middle of the eye. This will make your eyes look more open. The finishing touch will be the application of a highlighter to the inner corners, as well as eyelashes that are well dyed with mascara (pay special attention to the eyelashes in the outer corners).
