The lemonade diet, although it is considered to be extremely extreme, in addition to cleansing the body, it supports weight loss.

The real popularity of the program created by Stanley Burroughs in the early 40s is enjoyed in the United States. Due to the loss of minerals and vitamins that accompanies the lemonade diet, it is intended for short-term use only.

Lemonade diet = fasting?

There is no doubt that the lemonade diet is a form of starvation, because no food is allowed during its use. Women have a chance to lose ½ kilogram a day, while men up to a kilogram. To increase the effectiveness of detox, we can help ourselves with an infusion of herbs for purgation, both in the morning and every evening.

In 300 ml of cold or slightly warmed spring water, spread 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice and maple syrup (grade B) and 1/10 of a small teaspoon of cayenne pepper. We eat lemonade several times a day.

It is equally important to use the solution on an empty stomach, made of 2 small teaspoons of salt dissolved in 950 ml of slightly warmed spring water. The diet should last for several days to 2 weeks, but the safest way for the body to function is to use it for no longer than 2 days. Diet not only does not provide valuable nutrients, but also for the sake of supporting its effects with the use of a laxative, it removes valuable ingredients from the body.

Effects of the lemonade diet

The obvious result is a loss of fat mass. Unfortunately, along with it, we lose muscle tissue to some extent, as well as intestinal microflora, which may temporarily disturb the functioning of the digestive tract. There is a high risk of weakening the hair, skin and nails. Although most often the lemonade diet is carried out for a period of 10 days, it is worth shortening this time to the weekend. Finally, we emphasize once again that the loss of kilograms is also due to the loss of muscle tissue, nutrient content and dehydration. Used for a long time, it can expose us to nausea, fatigue and convulsions, while practiced for up to 10 days, it sometimes impairs memory and concentration.
