How does thermal water affect the thin skin of the eyelids? This month we tested the Vichy Eye & Lash Serum.
The famous thermal water is included in all products of the Liftactiv, Vichy range. But this month we tested a novelty – serum for eyelids and eyelashes.
Serum for eyelids and eyelashes has become the seventh product in the Liftactiv line, Vichy. The novelty promises to restore youth to the look. Non-standard claim: usually eyelid products promise to improve the condition of the skin. “A youthful look is not only the absence of wrinkles, bags and dark circles under the eyes, but also beautiful, thick eyelashes. And they become less and less with age, ”says Maria Deigina, medical director of Vichy laboratories. That’s why scientists added to rhamnose, the main anti-aging component of Liftactiv, substances that strengthen eyelashes. The editor of our magazine, Galina Chermenskaya, tested the novelty for a month and shared her opinion with us.
Operating principle
The ceramides in the serum strengthen and lengthen the eyelashes. Rhamnose (plant polysaccharide) in a high concentration of 10% stimulates cell renewal. Reflective particles add shine to the eyelids. And the famous Vichy thermal water soothes and regenerates the skin. Galina’s opinion: “A serum that simultaneously smoothes the skin and strengthens the eyelashes? I have never heard of anything like it! But I agreed to try the novelty without a doubt: I trust such well-known international brands as Vichy.”
Feature of application
The whole process should take place with your eyes closed. The product should be applied to the eyelids, including the area near the eyelashes, and spread from the inner corners of the eyes to the outer ones. Use drop by drop for both eyelids. Galina’s opinion: “It took seconds to apply the serum. Although I was afraid that it would get into my eyes, I did not begin to show initiative and exactly followed the manufacturer’s recommendations. As a result, everything went smoothly.”
Promised effect
The serum should instantly give the eyelids a glow, as well as reduce the visibility of wrinkles by 10%. After a month, according to the test results, the skin is smoothed by 27%, and the eyelashes become stronger by 77%. Galina’s opinion: “I didn’t see the glow of the skin, no matter how I looked. Wrinkles slightly decreased, but only after a month. But the eyelashes have grown noticeably, although they have not become thicker. Now the eyes look more expressive. When I’m wearing makeup, the difference is especially obvious.”
