This month we tested products from Yves Rocher’s new Elixir 7.9 line, a cream for sensitive skin and an eye gel.
Two years ago, Elixir 7.9 Serum was created to energize the skin, enhancing the effect of any cream. Today, five more products have joined it, stimulating metabolic processes in the skin. “Energy is the key to fighting the aging process,” says Xavier Ormancey, director of research and development at Yves Rocher. He claims that the Elixir 7.9 range provides cells with everything they need to function in “youth mode.” We asked the editor of our magazine Alla Anufrieva to share her opinion about the new products. She tested two Elixir 7.9 products for a month.
Operating principle
Aloe vera extract activates the healing of the skin, and beetroot and afloya extracts increase its protective abilities. Green rice improves cellular respiration, apple components accelerate the renewal of the stratum corneum, and sea buckthorn and tar seeds provide a lifting effect. Alla’s opinion: “I think that for skin care there is nothing better than herbal cosmetics. Therefore, I gladly agreed to test the novelties.”
Feature of application
It is necessary to distribute the product with upward movements from the bridge of the nose to the edge of the hair; from the wings of the nose to the temples; from the corners of the lips to the cheekbones. It is recommended to apply eye gel with a special roller applicator from the inner corner of the eye to the outer one. Alla’s opinion: “I love bottles with dispensers, but not very much roller massagers. And yet, for the first two weeks, I conscientiously massaged the skin around the eyes with an applicator. But then I gave up and began to drive the gel with my fingers, as I used to do it usually. It seemed to me that so the skin is less stretched. Both products are quickly absorbed, leaving a barely perceptible herbal scent.
Promised effect
The eye gel should reduce puffiness, blueness and wrinkles under the eyes in a month. The face cream guarantees an immediate radiance effect as well as instant skin hydration. According to manufacturers’ forecasts, after a week, wrinkles and redness should decrease, and face contours should tighten up in a month. Alla’s opinion: “Both products really moisturize well. The shimmery particles in the eye gel add radiance to the skin. It is a pity that the cream does not have such components. To be honest: for a month, bags under the eyes and wrinkles have not gone away. But it should be noted that the face has become much fresher. Perhaps if I had used the entire line, the effect would have been better.”
