This month we tested an unusual novelty – a leave-in treatment for increasing the volume of fine hair DiaBoost, Nioxin.
DiaBoost Elixir, Nioxin, promises to increase the diameter of each hair by 6% in one application. In addition, it moisturizes the scalp and stimulates the nutrition of the bulbs, which gradually leads to a noticeable thickening of the hair. Svetlana Kirenina, editor of the site psychologies.ru, used the tool for a week and shared her impressions.
Operating principle
The formula is based on a complex of three active ingredients. Panthenol, or provitamin B5, moisturizes and softens the skin. Caffeine stimulates microcirculation. Niacinamide (a form of vitamin B3) fills the voids inside the hair, preventing breakage and thickening it. A nice bonus: DiaBoost forms an elastic film that creates a slight hold effect. Svetlana willingly agreed to try the novelty: “Let’s see if this tool can make my extremely thin hair thicker and more voluminous.”
Feature of application
DiaBoost should be used after shampoo and conditioner, blotting hair with a towel. Distribute six to seven drops on the scalp, massage it for a minute with light circular movements, comb the hair and style it as usual. Other care products, such as tip serum, are applied after DiaBoost.
Svetlana’s opinion: “I experimented with the amount: I started with four clicks on the dispenser, I stopped at ten. Transparent gel with a neutral aroma does not weigh down the hair. I don’t think it’s possible to overdo it.”
Promised effect
From the first application, the hair becomes denser and retains volume for about eight hours. Gradually they become stronger and shinier. This is visible to the naked eye after four weeks of daily use.
Svetlana’s opinion: “The hair immediately became more elastic, but I didn’t notice any special fixation. Volume appeared only if I immediately used additional hair styling products. True, DiaBoost prolongs their action. Together with him, the styling lasts about two hours, which is an absolute record for me. It’s too early to talk about the cumulative effect, because only a week has passed.”
