Expectation vs. Reality: Hell’s Shopping for Home on Aliexpress

It would seem that the seller’s page has everything: photos, parameters, responses, but sometimes something comes up that is completely different from the ordered rug or saucepan.

Whoever has never bought anything online should be the first to throw a stone at me. For anyone how, but for me, online shopping is a real salvation. It’s much easier for me to buy a bath mat, or a shower curtain, or fitness bands, or god knows what else, on the internet than wandering around the shops comparing prices and going through countless samples. After all, I can order everything I need even on the subway on the way to work.

There are many like me. True, I was still lucky – it always came exactly what I ordered. But quite often, something goes wrong, and people get some absolutely hellish gizmos out of the parcels instead of the expected curtains and rugs.

For example, a saucepan – what could be easier? Lid, handles, thick bottom, everything is obvious. Almost all. Often a mini-copy of what the hostess expected. Just a toy pot for the children’s kitchenette. Or a rug – hardly even one foot will fit on it. The tent may be the size of a beekeeper’s hat.

And sometimes there is a surprise in the package. For example, a huge teddy bear instead of a solenoid (whatever the last word means, I’m sure bears are not called that). Or a fragment of a huge sewer pipe instead of a jacket.

“I got a cotton candy machine instead of a deep fryer,” complains one such customer. “And for me – suede sandals with heels instead of hiking boots,” replies another. Both are men. “What do you know about disappointment,” says a third. “Instead of sunglasses, they sent me two plastic figures of black starlings. Skvortsov, Karl! “

Of course, this is not as offensive as an indistinct rag instead of the expected wedding dress. Often the person is to blame himself – he read the description inattentively, chose the wrong size, missed the measurement units. But we have another reason to giggle – scroll through the photo gallery on the arrow to the right!
