Expectation and reality: 15 photos, where the packaging is more masterpiece of the order

How much effort and energy is spent in stores to pack purchases! And it would be better to spend a little common sense.

It seems that the only thing that mankind produces steadily and on a huge scale is garbage. On the one hand, everyone is drowning for the environment and conscientious consumption: reusable straws, coffee mugs, sorting garbage, attempts to ban plastic bags in supermarkets. On the other hand, in practice, less than 10 percent of the plastic produced is recycled, and packaging materials are used with such fanaticism that it becomes even scary.

A striking example is parcels from online stores. A user of the social network Reddit ordered a set of batteries on the Amazon platform, and received a box at least the size of a toaster. All the place in it was occupied by a plastic seal. And at the bottom lay the same blister with batteries.

Another customer shared his story: He ordered 6 of the same printer cartridges. The store carefully packed each cartridge in a cardboard box and sent them to the customer. Needless to say, all the cartridges would easily fit into one.

A couple more great examples: To pack a single candle, the store spent over three meters of bubble wrap. And he laid out five skeins of scotch tape in separate boxes, which, in turn, collected into one common one.

Eco-friendly light bulbs came wrapped in a ton of paper. It seems that you can bury an elephant in it. The user was advised to make compost out of it, but it seems that it was possible to do without such an extravaganza. Although if the buyer has a cat, he will be happy.

But the girl’s mother shares her pain. She ordered an LOL doll for her daughter. Those involved know: they are not cheap. After unpacking the purchase, the woman wondered: what is she paying for? After all, the garbage turned out to be many times more than meaning.

Two packs of tea, each weighing 100 grams, a king-size box and almost ten meters of bubble wrap. It seems that there is no common sense here.

Another customer decided to help nature and ordered environmentally friendly, biodegradable dishwashing sponges. Each of them was packed in a plastic bag. All together – into one more. Considering that sponges need to be changed at least once a week, the environmental damage is more beneficial.

The customer was equally perplexed and bought reusable drinking straws. The manufacturer urged to give up excess plastic – and packed the straws in an incredible mountain of polyethylene. As well as the thermo mug, which is designed to replace cardboard and plastic cups for take-away coffee.

But this is a very controversial packaging. It was hardly worth sealing the box of cat litter like that, it won’t break. On the other hand, a box and a pile of brown paper – what else does a cat need to be happy?

One single packaged allergy pill that will drive anyone crazy. First open the blister, then the package, then the individual packaging … Meanwhile, the anaphylactic shock does not sleep.

What do mascara and tiny decorative pans have in common? Obviously, these are very fragile items that need to be packed as carefully as possible.

The cream, by the way, is also incredibly fragile. Therefore, it must be put in a box, it must be put in another box, 100 times more than necessary, and the free space should be properly filled with wrapping paper.

And finally – a video: the grandmother gave her granddaughter a very beautiful set of nail polishes. It just turned out that there are much less varnishes in the box than one might think at first glance.
