Exercises for the eyes. Video
Regular eye exercises can relieve fatigue and prevent visual impairment. The exercise technique is quite simple and available for mastering at home.
Start by relaxing your eyes
After strenuous work at the computer or watching a movie for a long time, your eyes need to rest. Sit in a comfortable position, dim the lights, and close your eyes. Relax your eyelids and facial muscles. Feel your eyes slowly filling with weight. Breathe deeply and freely.
The relaxation phase should last about 5 minutes.
For maximum eye relaxation, use an exercise called palming. Close your eyes with folded palms so that no light penetrates between your fingers. Do not press your hands on your face – your hands should be free and relaxed. Find the most comfortable position for yourself and achieve maximum relaxation. Continue this exercise for 2-3 minutes. After that, close your eyes a few times, and then blink quickly.
Exercises to relieve eye fatigue
Start by rolling your eyes slowly – first to the right, then to the left. Then describe the eights with your eyes – horizontally, then vertically. After that, put your index finger in front of you and fix your gaze on it. Move your finger to the sides, and follow it with your eyes, the head should not turn. Then place your finger straight and look at it for 5 seconds. Move your gaze to the far wall, pause again for 5 seconds, and then again focus on your finger. The next exercise – look at the tip of the finger for 5 seconds, close the right eye for 5 seconds, while continuing to look at the finger, open both eyes and repeat the exercise with the left eye.
This complex must be done every 40 minutes after strenuous eye work. Perform each exercise 7-12 times. At the end, you can repeat the relaxation phase and palming.
Special moisturizing drops can be used to relieve fatigue and the feeling of grit in the eyes.
Exercises to prevent myopia
To begin with, make some kind of “information” of the eyes – look inward, first to the tip of the nose, and then to the bridge of the nose. Then move your eyes left and right, then up and down, and then diagonally. Continue moving the eyeballs to the most extreme points, feel the tension of the muscles of the eyes. Make a few vigorous rotations of your eyes to both sides, and then about 5 firm squeezes. Blink quickly. At the end, palming can be done.
Exercise Every Day To Prevent Myopia
Also, exercises will help if you just noticed the first signs of deterioration in vision: a burning sensation in the eyes, “flies”, fuzzy outlines of objects, double vision. Train for 15 minutes a day, doing each exercise 10 times.
Additional means to improve vision
Eat right. For the proper functioning of the eyes, vitamins A, C and E are needed, as well as zinc, calcium and lutein. These substances are found in apricots, carrots, blueberries, citruses, hazelnuts, fish, pumpkin, eggs and dairy products. Be sure to include these types of foods in your diet. You can also take special vitamin supplements to help maintain eye health.
Do not sit at the computer or with a book. Overstrain of the lens leads to its deformation. After 40 minutes of work, give your eyes a rest – look out the window, do a set of exercises or relaxing palming.
Watch out for lighting: too bright, as well as too dim, light negatively affects vision. Place the light on the left when working at a desk. Never type in the dark, even on a backlit keyboard – the contrast between dark keys and a bright monitor is very damaging to your eyes. Wear sunglasses on sunny days. Do not read while driving – there is rarely a good light in transport, and the shaking on the road makes your eyes constantly strain to focus on the text.
A special gene is responsible for myopia, so if someone in your family has poor eyesight, you are more prone to myopia.
Go in for sports. Any physical activity improves blood circulation and metabolism. The eyes also have blood vessels that nourish all the structures of the eye. Eye health is directly related to the health of the entire body. Choose medium-weight cardio loads: running, cycling, aerobics, dancing. In addition, vascular health directly depends on the amount of bad cholesterol in the body – limit fatty foods and do not eat fast food. If you have a predisposition to vascular disease, your doctor may prescribe a special diet and medications for you.
Check yourself regularly. Even if you are sure that everything is fine with your eyes, going to the ophthalmologist never hurts. A specialist will test your visual acuity and examine your eyes for other conditions. It is especially necessary to approach the examination responsibly at an older age, because many diseases are very easy to prevent at the initial stage.
