Imagine a situation where you have doubts about whether you can do something, whether you can handle it, whether the chances are great. Moreover, the situation is this: with your head you rather understand that you can handle it, but there are still doubts — irrational.​​​​​​​​​​​​

  • Will I pass my law exam?
  • Can you convince customers?
  • Will I be able to do the exercise well?

Yes, I can, but still sometimes doubts. Then use a simple technique: as soon as you notice that you are in doubt about something, say to yourself:

  • Yeah, doubt?
  • You are smart and talented, you can do it!
  • Work!

Immediately, as soon as doubts arose, at the same moment, immediately! — “Yeah, doubts? You are smart, you can do it! You are smart, you can do it! Work!»


The main thing is to do it right away, then this phrase becomes magical.


You can safely change the components of the phrase, the main thing to remember is that there are three of them.

  • The first attracts attention: “Yeah, doubts?”
  • The second gives confidence: “You are smart and talented, you can do it!”
  • The third directs to work: «Work!»

First, try the one that is written here, then pick up your phrases that will suit you. As soon as you pick up your formulations that will work best for you, the exercise will become impenetrable.

How to understand that the exercise has been worked out

The main criterion is that you automatically apply this formula several times a day. Sometimes even without the first part, just additionally set yourself up for work.

The second criterion is that you are much more likely to start doing things right away, without putting them off indefinitely.

An additional criterion is that it becomes easier for you to do some things that previously seemed difficult or unpleasant, now you do them either calmly or with pleasure and enthusiasm.

«Interesting!»

This exercise is very similar to the “Doubts” exercise, only if in the previous case we did so that there were no doubts, so that you were sure that you could easily do any business, then in the “Interesting” exercise we turn any business from boring to interesting.

How exactly to do this exercise? Imagine that you need to do something that, for some reason, may seem boring or routine. Few people want to do such a thing, before starting work, it must be turned into an interesting one.


Be sure to turn everything into interesting!


This is the same mandatory rule as changing clothes when you come home, washing your hands from the street, brushing your teeth before going to bed, locking the apartment when you leave. Everyone knows it and everyone does it. Things also need to be made interesting, never do things until you have made them interesting.

How to make things interesting. Use a simple technique, as soon as the case seemed uninteresting, say to yourself:

  • «Yeah, isn’t that interesting?»
  • «Well, what’s interesting about it?» — and find what interests you in this matter.
  • «Great, work!»

Just like in the doubt exercise, you can choose your phrases and your formulations that will work for you. Only in this exercise, one part is added that must be left:


Find out what might be of interest to you!


In every case, whatever it may be, there is something interesting. You may be interested in practicing some skills while doing it, or doing it for speed, or having a competition. There are thousands of options, use your imagination.

Any business can be made interesting and this must be done before taking on it! In fact, “actually” is never written boring or interesting, it is your task to make a choice. It is better to make a choice in favor of interestingness.

How to understand that the exercise has been worked out

The main criterion: you are interested, you take up any business with enthusiasm, you want to do it already.

You often catch yourself at moments when your eyes are “burning”, your energy is overflowing and you want to do something.
