Discussions about the moral permissibility of the death penalty do not stop in the world. Psychologists at Stanford University (USA) completed a long-term study and proved how inhumane it is in relation to those … who carry out the sentence. To perform this work, it is necessary to turn off the moral consciousness, replacing it with external rules and principles (for example, the archaic “eye for an eye”). Apparently, the same psychological mechanism is triggered in the performance of official duties by the military, managers and party functionaries, those who, on duty, carry out orders from their superiors that restrict the freedom and rights of other people. And such work does not pass for the personality of the performers in vain.
