I have an observation that when I take into work strong exercises that bring a new level of quality of life, more optimal thinking and add life wisdom, then sometimes life provides excellent opportunities to check: how well have the lessons been learned?
My story is about how I passed the exam for the exercises “Good!”, “Bailing out pluses” and “Fun insurance” (or “Traffic light”).
2015 A week, as I get used to a new city. One day I was on the bus on business. There was a flea market, my attention was on the task of not passing the necessary stop. And now I see that I seem to be driving up, making my way to the exit. Yes, the building that I need, the right entrance … I go in.
And then I realize that something is missing. There are no bags. In the bag is a passport, keys to the apartment, a wallet. In the wallet — almost everything that I have from cash and 2 bank cards. I have a folder with documents in my hands, a mobile phone in my pocket and a little change.
To make it clear what situation I got into, I will add details: the city is completely new for me: I just moved to live. There are no friends-acquaintances yet from the word “absolutely”, there is only a neighbor-grandmother, with whom I left spare keys. Parents and immediate family in 5 hours by bus. And at home there were about 300 USD left.
Pause… And the first thing I understand after realizing what happened to me is that I feel inside — «GOOD!». I just Ho-ro-sho! Further, curiosity and a research note are connected to Good, and the second thought is already on scooping out the pluses, on the machine: “Wow, this has never happened to me! Interesting!». Then, also on the machine, a quick scooping out of the pluses and an analysis of the lesson learned: the phone is with me, the little things are enough to get to the house, there are spare keys, at home — as much as 300 USD and a supply of food: I will not die of hunger. And the most important thing for the future: the first is to return automatic monitoring of my things and what is happening around me (once I knew how, and then I relaxed and stopped doing it), the second is “not to keep all the eggs in one basket” ( this is about 2 bank cards, which for some reason I carried with me, one would be enough).
By that time, I had already managed to hone my ability to do the “Funny Insurance” exercise, and lost, even dear things to me: my favorite bag and all the little things in it, a wallet, and money (which I didn’t have so much now: there was no time for extra spending ) passed quietly for me, and I easily said goodbye to them. But with the passport there was a problem that had to be solved.
In my “Good” state, I call the police, explain the situation. The dispatcher tells me to wait on the spot, now the PPS squad will arrive to take me to write a statement about the loss of the document. Inside clicks strange, but still a plus: «Never rode in a police car!». A few minutes later they pick me up and take me to the police. I wrote a statement, and we talked with the policeman for fifteen minutes, and he told me this phrase: “For the first time I see a person who does not panic when losing his passport and behaves calmly.” Such a “non-standard” reaction, it seemed to me, aroused some suspicions in him, or something else, and he asked me several questions, which, again, it seemed to me, were not relevant to the case. He did not give hope to find a passport, because. says if anyone finds it, they can either throw it away or ask for a large amount for the return, but said to wait a few days before applying for a new one.
Coming home. I call my mother and calmly tell her everything. She immediately finds an option on how to transfer the money to me, since I blocked bank cards on the advice of the bank operator. My mood is GOOD, I know the algorithm of what and how I do next: I wait a few days, apply for a lost passport, and go about my business.
