PSYchology

When the famous pianist was recording this album at a studio in Los Angeles, he did not yet know that in February he would receive — the first Russian musician — the Grammy, the most prestigious award in the field of music.

The young maestro has a unique style of sound production, which is characterized by romance, passion and a special sense of tact. The choice of works on the disc is not accidental: each of them had a difficult fate.

Scriabin’s paradoxical impressionistic music turned out to be too unusual for its time, Medtner’s Nostalgic Sonata is even today considered one of the most difficult piano numbers to perform, and Stravinsky’s ingenious Petrushka was once considered almost a parody of Russian symphonic music. These masterpieces are rarely performed today. A chance to rise above the hustle and bustle and smile at eternal values.

1 CD, SONY BMG.
