Everything you need to know to clean your house naturally
How about taking stock of the contents of your cupboards? We eat organic, but we cling to bleach and we are not always ready to do eco-responsible cleaning!
1. The sol
We are talking about tiling or all floors that support the passage of a mop soaked in hot water, such as linoleum. To avoid using products that are harmful to the environment, but also to your health and that of your family (and the baby who crawls on the ground from time to time!), Here is a simple and often less expensive alternative to chemical cocktails sold on supermarket shelves.
In a bucket of hot water, pour a good tablespoon of liquid black soap (which you will find in organic stores or in hardware stores). You can add ten drops of white pine essential oil for a fresh smell. No need to rinse. The floor shines and does not stick.
2. Windows
It’s not easy to clean your windows. And when you have bay windows, this task quickly turns into a nightmare. How to do to no longer have traces? Our grandmothers used newspaper and that’s it. We rub with a sheet rolled into a ball and the tiles shine again.
If your windows are really dirty, mix hot water and white vinegar. Rub and dry the windows with a microfiber cloth, an effective and indispensable ally.
3. Faucets, sink and bathtub
To recover your taps quickly invaded with lime, baking soda seems the best natural product. With white vinegar and lemon, baking soda must be present in the kitchen at all times and the bathroom to clean, detach, shine and degrease the worktop, taps and hobs.
Here is also another recipe. Take a glass washer-type bottle with a spray. Pour a liter of hot water then a tablespoon of baking soda, another of white vinegar and finally, ten drops of tea tree or lemon essential oil. This product scrubs everything without exception!
4. The toilets
Are your toilets clogged and scaled up? In a bowl, mix half a glass of white vinegar, a quarter of a glass of black soap and three drops of eucalyptus and tea-tree essential oil. Leave on overnight. In the morning, scrub and flush the toilet. It’s better no ?
5. Laundry
The components of industrial detergents are often the cause of skin irritation or allergies. To do your (very soft) laundry yourself, nothing could be simpler: mix 125 g of Marseille soap flakes (shavings) with three liters of hot water, add ten drops oflavender essential oil to disinfect, and so that the laundry smells good.
When the mixture has cooled, add four tablespoons of baking soda. Shake, it’s ready. Put half a glass of this preparation in the detergent drawer of the machine. If you want bleach and / or soften your laundry, pour a glass of white vinegar in the fabric softener tray. I promise, it doesn’t smell anything and in addition, it removes the limestone from the machine in the process.
