2020 people took part in the National Health Test of Poles 400, organized by the editors of MedTvoiLokony in cooperation with experts in the field of medicine. Based on the answers given in the questionnaires, a report was prepared that shows how Poles care about their health, what they suffer from and how they approach preventive examinations.
We learn from the report that 7 percent. of respondents are diagnosed with diabetes. This is in line with the knowledge of experts on this topic:
– 7 percent of the respondents say that he has been diagnosed with diabetes, which is exactly as stated in the latest IDF atlas, i.e. the International Diabetes Federation, which is a very good result of the National Test of Polish Health when it comes to compliance with scientific data. However, I believe that this percentage is underestimated because a large group of people are not diagnosed with diabetes – explains prof. dr hab. n. med. Maciej Małecki.
The underestimated percentage of diagnosed diabetics may be due, among other things, to the fact that few people regularly test blood glucose levels. 50 percent do it regularly. respondents, and this percentage increases with age. In the youngest group (18-24 years old) it was only 36%.
