Evergreens for the garden: names
Evergreens are a versatile garden decoration that diversifies and complements the decor in summer, and in winter dilutes the white canvas of snow with bright colors. These are not at all boring herbaceous plantations or coniferous shrubs, as you might think unknowingly. This is a varied mass of plants, many varieties and species that will satisfy any preference of the gardener.

- Aucuba. It is a shrub with variegated white and green leaves. Blooms from September to January. Loves shady places. In winter, an icy wind can affect the growth of new shoots, but in general, the plant can withstand any weather. An adult plant reaches a height of up to 2 m.
- Boxwood. Depending on the variety, it can grow up to 3 m or have a dwarf size. The color of the leaves can also vary. There is a variety that has yellow spots on the leaves. Tolerates any weather, not picky about the soil.
- Euonymus. There are ground cover varieties of this plant, and shrubs that create a hedge for the site. Choose the variety carefully when buying – euonymus exist not only evergreen, but also deciduous. The shrub has dense greenery. Leaves can be painted with a variegated yellow-green color.
These shrubs can be planted along a fence to create a green hedge, next to a house or in a landscape design composition.
Other evergreen unusual plants for the garden

- Pyracantha. Shrub resistant to external conditions with straight branches. Blooms from October to January. After flowering, it forms bright fruits, depending on the variety, they can be red or yellow.
- Rosemary. Blooms from April to May. Different varieties have white and purple flowers. Straight thin shoots are directed upwards, grow up to 1,5 m. They are abundantly covered with thin leaves of a gray-green hue.
They are perfectly combined with each other in landscape compositions, and can also become a single bright element of your site.
The variety of evergreen representatives allows you to choose a plant for every taste – from shrubs with unusual leaves and fruits to simple ground cover grasses. Most of them are hardy and adapted to all weather conditions.
