Evening glutton or Madame Plyushkina: the main mistakes in food

Even those who carefully count the calories, protein, fat, and carbohydrates in each serving do it.

Some put leaves and proteins on a plate, others “grind” a handful of food every half hour, and someone pours a cup of hot tea with cookies over the food. It turns out that even a “power supply system for …” can be beneficial for some, and harm for others. Wday.ru analyzed the most serious mistakes in the selection of food together with a specialist.

If you try to bring all people under a single denominator when choosing a diet, you can end up with impaired digestion and other health problems. On the one hand, the set of products that a person puts into himself on a daily basis does not in any way reflect his personal qualities. The choice of diet and nutrition system, whether you are a vegetarian or a meat-eater, is a personal matter. But after 20 years of studying nutrition and having a large patient base, I can confidently say that people make one or more mistakes, which we jokingly combined into archetypes.

Go in for sports, loves high physical activity. In nutrition, she focuses on foods that increase muscle mass – foods high in protein or special protein shakes.

What’s wrong? The increased protein content in food does not at all give it the same increased absorption. The point is both the ability of the body to assimilate a limited amount of protein at a time, and the real need of the body for amino acids (our idea and the real picture are very different from each other). The more a person consumes protein, the more it has to be taken out and not absorbed. As a result, due to the increased load, the kidneys and liver will “fly out” the fastest when removing excess protein. The kidneys are the control system for the articular and ligamentous apparatus, therefore, the risk of frequent injuries and inflammations increases.

What to do? It is important to consume not the maximum possible amount of protein, but protein, complete in proportion to the proportion of amino acids in it. It is imperative to drink at least 1,5 liters of clean water per day, exclude tea, coffee, alcohol. Daily walks in the fresh air for at least 20 minutes twice a day are mandatory. All this will relieve the kidneys in the first place. So it will be possible to build up the muscles, and the body will not be destroyed by overloads.

Most often, women sin this way of eating, but it is also found among men. Madame loves “tea with a cookie” 2-3 times every day. She loves various pastries, sweets, gingerbread cakes, she cannot imagine life without sweetness. Also, tea for her is a natural continuation of the main meal. Therefore, lunch and dinner can drag on for an hour or more.

What’s wrong? Long-term intake of foods with a high glycemic index (baked goods and sweets) leads to an increase in background (basal) insulin levels. The body gets used to increased insulin as to constant noise, and stops responding to it – liver cells develop insulin resistance, glucose tolerance and other disorders. All of these are the right steps towards diabetes.

Against the background of a constant “sweet” attack on the liver, it reduces its functionality. This leads to a gradual shift in the balance of sex hormones towards hyperestrogenism (high levels of the hormone estrogen), which can lead to various types of neoplasms in gynecology, as well as disorders of the thyroid gland.

What to do? Clearly regulate the time and duration of meals – food should be finished in 15-30 minutes. Then there should be a break of 1,5 hours. Exclude sweet and starchy foods for a month in order to restore carbohydrate metabolism (this is strict!). It will be possible to return to the use of sweets very carefully and little by little. Supplement the diet with vegetables (and not fruits, since they contain fructose), fiber, whole grains (limited), increase the protein content.

He switched to vegetarianism, deciding that vegetarianism meant a simple rejection of meat. He doesn’t think about food anymore – he eats what he put on the plate. On this method of nutrition, he feels good for at least a year, at least 10 years (while the body lives on accumulated resources).

What’s wrong? In the body, the composition of the microflora is disturbed. After a while, there is a disruption in the work of the gallbladder (at least dyskinesia of the biliary tract), an overload of the pancreas is possible (due to the need to produce certain enzymes in large quantities). Micronutrient deficiencies, often anemia of various origins due to an unbalanced vegetarian diet.

What to do? Everything is simple here: check your meat-free diet for the balance of all micro and macro elements. And supplement it with various oils, lots of herbs, etc.

Eat only seasonal vegetables, fruits and herbs when readily available. He buys only those “organic” products that are grown in his region. In the cold season, he eats almost nothing of vegetables, since in Russia at this time almost nothing grows, and the brought fruits and vegetables are “stuffed with chemistry.”

What’s wrong? In the cold season (and this is most of the year in our country, except for the southern regions), the body is deficient in trace elements. As a result, further disturbances in well-being occur: weakness, allergies, retarded development, memory impairment, hair loss, brittle nails, etc.

What to do? Accept the fact that really organic vegetables and fruits in our time are those that are grown in their own garden at a distance of at least 200 km from civilization. All others still contain nitrates and pesticides. And the question is not about the content of chemicals in foods, but whether the body is able to neutralize them. To do this, you need to maintain the health of the main biochemical filter of the body – the liver. And, of course, choose the highest quality vegetables, fruits and greens offered, but do not exclude them altogether.

In the morning, on the fly, he chews a sandwich with tea or coffee – he does not have time to normally have breakfast. Often in the morning he has no appetite at all, so he may skip breakfast entirely. Lunch – a snack on the go or in a cafe as needed. But for dinner – a complete break: I eat everything I see, and until the seams on my pants crack. The reasoning is simple: a person has the right to rest and eat with pleasure for the entire day full of stress and effort.

A separate story – “night dojoor”: when between one or two in the morning a person sneaks into the refrigerator and clogs his insatiable stomach to the eyeballs.

What’s wrong? All wrong. The pancreas and liver are seriously affected, carbohydrate, fat, cholesterol metabolism is disrupted. The person gets a distended stomach and extra weight. This is the minimum that is expected after 30 years if a person regularly practices such a lifestyle.

What to do? Set three main meals, and lunch is the main one. Anything too heavy, fatty, proteinaceous, salty, sweet, used for dinner, turns into poison. At lunchtime, you can “come off” (within reasonable limits, of course), satisfying your gastronomic preferences. Breakfast should be mandatory, otherwise there is a risk of chronic disorders of bile secretion. Lack of appetite in the morning is not a feature of the organism, but a sign of its poisoning with products of incomplete metabolism from the evening and night “dozhors”. The best breakfast is porridge with vegetable oil and seeds.

Constantly eating something: breakfast, after 30 minutes – a cookie with tea, after another 40 minutes – a sandwich, and then dinner time has come … This is a conveyor belt, non-stop and merciless. There is no appetite as such, but the feeling of fullness does not come either. There is permanent hunger, so you want to constantly chew. There is often a psychological dependence on food.

What’s wrong? The absence of interruptions in food very quickly destroys the biliary system, pancreas and liver. The pancreas, after the release of enzymes to digest food, should take a break. Otherwise, in such a conveyor work, it quickly “burns out”. In the same way, from constant stress, the entire digestive system wears out and fails.

What to do? Observe a clear schedule of food intake in terms of time and duration. Eating no longer than 20 minutes (this is quite enough), a break – at least 3 hours between main meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner). Two snacks are allowed during the day, but there must be breaks of at least 1,5 hours before them. The volume of food at a time is no more than two palms folded together.

Lover of spices and national cuisine

For example, if a person decides that India is his second homeland. We will repeat everything that Indians do and eat, because they all came out of the cradle of spirituality, and their recipes are many thousands of years old. Idealization is evident, but from the inside it is not noticeable. The diet consists of Indian dishes, according to Indian recipes, but without adjustment for our climate, food and conditions.

What’s wrong? The main sufferers from a large amount of spices in food are the stomach and pancreas (for example, its inflammation – pancreatitis). The simultaneous lack of food more suitable for our climate leads to a persistent deficiency of macro- and micronutrients.

What to do? For our strip (excluding the southern regions), the monastery cuisine is more suitable. Many of her recipes appear in open sources during Orthodox fasts. If there is a desire to eat according to Indian recipes, then you should cut the amount of spices in half, and also check the diet for the balance of all micro- and macroelements. By the way, nutrition “according to doshas” is also not suitable here – a modern incorrect interpretation of this Ayurvedic system in the medium term leads to persistent disorders.
