Evening beauty routine: 3 stages of facial care

No matter how tired you are in the evening, remove makeup, wash your face and apply night cream is strictly necessary before going to bed. Unless, of course, you are determined to grow old ahead of time. Let’s talk about the step-by-step skin care in more detail.

The need for evening skin care at home

In the evening, it is very important to prepare the skin for a nightly renewal. And cleansing plays an important role in this preparation.

During the day, dust and dirt particles settle on our skin, it is attacked by rain and snow, wind and sun. All this somehow affects the condition of the epidermis. But nature has provided for everything and gives us a respite to recuperate. While we sleep, under the cover of night, active restoration work takes place in the body, including in the skin. In order to contribute to these processes in every possible way, three stages of care must be observed before going to bed:

  • purification;

  • toning;

  • hydration or nutrition.

Age features of evening face care

Cleansing the skin in the evening is a must at any age.

The skin needs evening cleansing both in youth and in the period of maturity. This fact must be accepted as an axiom and not be lazy in the evening to remove makeup.

After 20 years

At this frivolous age, it seems that if you do not wash off your makeup after a noisy party, then nothing terrible will happen. One time, maybe. But if you regularly forget about evening cleansing, then very soon you will encounter such unpleasant phenomena as:

  • clogged pores;

  • loss of natural radiance;

  • irritation and blackheads.

After 30 years

After 30 years, evening cleansing becomes a familiar and conscious ritual. During this period, the first signs of age-related changes appear in the form of a network of wrinkles around the eyes and mouth (if you smoke). Skin care can no longer be limited to cleansing makeup. The night cream will support the recovery process so that the next morning the face looks fresh and rested.

After 40 years

Skin care after 40 years includes almost the same steps as before, but it is recommended to use a product with anti-aging components as a night cream. Serum application becomes an obligatory stage of care.

After 50 years

Evening facial after 50 years turns into a multi-stage procedure: thorough cleansing + tonic + serum + night cream or night mask. Please note that at this age, the skin, as a rule, becomes drier and caring oils turn out to be very useful.

Facial skin care in the evening: a sequence of actions

Evening skin care at home includes three main steps.

Purification

Take off your makeup. Do not forget to wash afterwards with a gel or foam, choosing a product based on your skin type.

Oil for removing makeup and cleansing the skin of the face Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil, Kiehl’s

A new cleansing format: the oil is applied to dry skin, and then washed off with water, turning into a light emulsion. That is, make-up removal and washing occur at the same time. Essential oils in the composition of the product soothe the skin, give a delicate aroma.

Toning

After removing make-up and washing, apply tonic on the face. It is not necessary to wipe the skin with a cotton pad. You can pour a little tonic in the palm of your hand and blot your face with your hands, allowing the product to absorb on its own.

Moisturizing facial toner Ultra Facial Toner, Kiehl’s

Alcohol-free (without ethyl alcohol) tonic with hyaluronic acid, squalane, avocado and apricot oils intensively moisturizes the skin.

Food

On still slightly damp skin, apply a moisturizer or nourisher. But not too thick. Cosmetologists advise using the minimum amount of cream at night so as not to provoke morning puffiness.

We really like the Night Revitalizing Facial Concentrate.

Midnight Recovery Concentrate, Kiehl’s

The product is enriched with essential oils and plant extracts. The concentrate not only moisturizes and nourishes the skin, but also helps it look rested, firmer, smoother and softer.
