Aesthetic gynecology is no longer taboo. Not only for adults. 11-year-old girls dream of a doll-like vagina. It is these children who will become complex patients in 10 years, or rather clients of aesthetic gynecologists. For the dishonest, they will be a vein of gold. Which women need such treatments? Who can they save health, improve sex life and quality of life for? Medonet asked the experts: Dr. Elżbieta Radzikowska and Dr. Tomasz Basta.

3. Doctors are primarily concerned about the fact that younger and younger people do not accept their body and they increasingly seek help from them.

In recent years, plastic gynecology has come out of the way. More and more often, it is aesthetics, and not medical considerations, that decide about going under the knife. The range of services offered is really wide. Women can reduce, enlarge and firm the labia, undergo vaginoplasty or liposuction of the pubic mound, enlarge the G-spot, and even laser whiten their intimate areas. On the occasion of the silver wedding, perennial wives have the chance to turn into virgins again, and men do not have to treat the small penis complex with a new car.

The question was, which came first, the chicken or the egg? We have always had reservations about the appearance of intimate places, did the new possibilities offered by plastic gynecology make us have these reservations? Probably neither one nor the other. In consumer culture, attractiveness is perceived as a commodity. The media promoted a specific type of beauty – unnatural and impossible to achieve without a team of dieticians, beauticians or plastic surgeons. Just look at the wizard of the male imagination – Playboy magazine. About 6000 photos are taken for one issue, and only a dozen are published. Men see the most beautiful women in the best shots, taken by the best photographers, usually retouched. Unreal people in unreal surroundings – in a word, fiction.

Buns and butterflies

Black clouds have gathered over intimate medicine recently. Back in July, the BBC informed about the growing interest in labiaplasty in the UK. It would not be surprising if the procedure concerned adult patients. According to the National Health Service (NHS) at the turn of 2015-2016 two hundred women under the age of 18 underwent correction of the shape of the labia. More than 150 of them were under 15!

According to the regulations in force, the procedure is intended for adult women, but in exceptional circumstances – if the size and shape of the labia is significantly different from the norm or is a cause of severe stress, it can be performed in younger patients. British doctors believe that 40 percent. the teenager exaggerates the psychological discomfort just to qualify for labiaplasty.

It gets even worse. As early as nine-year-old girls feel aversion when describing their own intimate places and are convinced that their sexual organs are abnormal. However, as the gynecologist emphasizes, the drug. Tomasz Basta, MD, the “standard” does not exist in this case.

– Female intimate places are like a face – no two are alike. Such a model is certainly not the intimate places of women in pornographic films. They are actresses who mostly have had various types of operations behind them – in “nature”, rarely are completely symmetrical, non-protruding, perfectly round and firm sex organs – says the specialist.

Psychologists point to several reasons for intimate complexes: upbringing, lack of sexual education, access to pornography, but in the case of frustration and embarrassment of girls, there is “something” else. Or “someone”: Barbara Millicent Roberts, or Barbie doll – the best-selling toy of all time. “California Girl” with long legs, blonde hair, tanned skin and a smile of a flight attendant. The perfect mother, wife and lover. A businesswoman, artist, versatile woman with absurd proportions of 84-46-80 cm and BMI indicating anorexia.

For 99 percent. of the owners of the doll, it is Barbie, who represents everything that a modern woman is not, is a canon of beauty. Prudery Americans gave her a surgeon’s breasts, a wasp waist, and a firm bottom, but they forgot about the vagina. And that’s how Mattel created a woman …

Today, the brand’s producers have gone to their heads and created real versions of the doll with different skin colors and ages, but the milk has spilled. Curvy Barbie, available from 2016, is what plus size catwalk models are – a diplomatic PR effort to change the brand image.

Research to date on the appearance of female genitalia shows that a Barbie vagina is rare, and most women have longer inner labia than outer labia.

– These must be really large asymmetries and deviations or, for example, post-traumatic anomalies, postoperative or postpartum injuries, to conclude that the patient qualifies for treatment for aesthetic reasons. If there is a major disturbance in the anatomy of the reproductive organs, then we will determine the appropriate therapy. Of course, there are women who experience real drama because of the appearance of their genitals. And it is not only the discomfort that prevents them from riding a bike, causes pain while wearing underwear or during intercourse. There are women whose labia have such a natural structure that they hang down even several centimeters. There are also patients who survived an accident that distorted the appearance of their intimate parts. Then it is not difficult for a woman to realize that something is wrong. He is ashamed all his life, has great mental barriers in sexual contacts, he doesn’t like his own body. It lowers her self-confidence, her sense of happiness and, to put it bluntly, she suffers mentally. When the problem is evident and the reproductive organs are unnaturally distorted, I cannot imagine that such a woman could be refused help – comments the gynecologist.

In Poland, women who seek labiaplasty for aesthetic reasons are still a minority. Most often, the correction of the labia is based on medical indications, such as the obvious hypertrophy of the labia, which causes frequent infections and inflammation of the genital tract, discomfort and pain during normal functioning, pain during intercourse and less sexual sensations and postpartum injuries.

– After such ailments, a woman may realize that something is wrong and that she should see a doctor dealing with aesthetic and plastic gynecology in order to improve the comfort of her own life – adds the drug. med. Tomasz Basta.

Size weightlessness

For most men, the penis is the most important part of the body, and its size affects their psychological comfort and self-confidence. As Elżbieta Radzikowska argues, the correct penis size, just like the correct appearance of the labia in women, does not exist. Its average length ranges from 12,0 to 15,0 cm during an erection and does not affect a woman’s orgasm. Moreover, studies show that it also doesn’t matter when choosing a life partner. Nevertheless, producers of supplements: tablets, creams and gels prey on complexes created by pornography, and plastic surgery procedures are becoming more and more popular.

– If a man wants to lengthen his penis, he can undergo a surgical operation that involves cutting the suspension ligament. A risky procedure with a dubious effect. Some, in turn, choose fillers for penis enlargement. However, it is such a delicate organ that it is easy to damage. Fillers have the effect of widening the penis, but they can constrict the lymphatic and vascular system. There is swelling and pain, even when urinating. I have a patient who came to me for help after an unsuccessful treatment with hyaluronic acid and he suffers a lot. He confided to me that his intimate life was weak due to complexes, and now it ceased to exist. So far, he has tried to dissolve hyaluronic acid with enzyme preparations, but with poor results. Here only time can bring relief, adhesions and scars will soften someday, but the greater problem is psychological trauma. It will be more difficult to heal from this – comments the surgeon.

A 30-year-old Stockholm resident who died while enlarging and thickening his penis with his own fat will not have the opportunity to heal the trauma after the unsuccessful surgery. In a report published in the journal of the Journal of Forensic Sciences, it was noted that the cause of death was pulmonary embolism. They found that the fat cells injected in the first step had migrated into punctured pulmonary veins and ruptured the blood vessels.

According to doctors, separating the procedure of penis enlargement from thickening will reduce the risk level, but apart from pulmonary embolism, there are other risks: damage to the skin, urethra or impotence. The question is, is it worth risking for aesthetics? The more so because, as Søren Kierkegaard claimed, “comparison is the source of all our poverty”, also “poverty” below the belt …
