For the 9th time in Poland, this year, on May 12, Euromelanoma Day takes place, which is the European day of free skin birthmark testing. 280 dermatologists from 246 clinics and dermatological offices will test 4720 patients.
In 2013, over 2800 patients took part in the campaign. It turns out that awareness of skin lesions in Poland is still very low – 81% of participants in last year’s campaign underwent a full skin examination by a dermatologist for the first time. Dermatologists diagnosed melanoma in 1 patients, and non-melanoma skin tumors * were diagnosed in 51 participants.
