Eurefin Syrup is an anti-inflammatory and bronchodilator drug. The active substance of the drug is fenspiride, which has an anti-inflammatory and bronchodilating effect. Among other things, it soothes inflammatory symptoms such as swelling and irritation, blocks excessive mucus secretion and acts as an antitussive agent. The medicine is in the form of a prescription syrup.

Eurefin Syrup – indications for taking
Eurefin Syrup is a drug intended for symptomatic treatment of coughing and expectoration:
- in the course of inflammatory diseases of the bronchi and lungs.
Treatment with the use of the preparation must not delay the start of antibiotics, if there is a need for their use.
Eurefin Syrup and contraindications
There are the following contraindications to the use of Eurefin Syrup:
- hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation,
- use of children until the age of 2,
- use by pregnant women and during breastfeeding.
Use of the drug
Eurefin Syrup is intended for oral administration. Eurefin syrup should be used immediately before a meal. The packaging of the preparation includes a measuring cup that makes it easy to measure the desired dose of the drug. It should not be given to children under 2 years of age.
- Adults: 45-90 ml daily in divided doses.
- Children after 2 years of age: 4 mg / kg body weight daily, i.e. children weighing less than 10 kg: 10-20 ml daily in divided doses; children weighing more than 10 kg: 30-60 ml daily in divided doses.
Eurefin Syrup – warnings
- People with fructose intolerance disorders, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency should not take this medicine because it contains sucrose.
- Diabetic patients should be careful because 5 ml of the syrup contains 3 g of sucrose.
- Eurefin syrup contains methyl and propyl parahydroxybenzoate, which may cause allergic reactions (delayed type).
- Eurefin may affect the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery / machines and impair psychophysical ability.
Eurefin Syrup – side effects
The use of Eurefin Syrup may lead to:
- gastrointestinal disorders,
- nausea,
- epigastric pain,
- sleepiness
- an increase in the heart rate, which subsides after dose reduction,
- allergic reactions (erythema, rash, urticaria, angioedema, erythema turning into permanent discoloration).
