The use and mode of action of euphorbium
Euphorbium is an over-the-counter agent that is used in the treatment of all types of rhinitis (both viral, bacterial and allergic), regardless of their severity and course, as well as in chronic sinusitis. In addition, Euphorbium can be used to improve the patency of the nose in hay fever that causes sneezing. Euphorbium can also help with foul-smelling rhinitis.
Euphorbium is a drug that stimulates the nasal mucosa, removes any changes typical for it and does not cause congestion and minimize the patency of the nasal passages. Euphorbium is an antiviral drug (inhibits the multiplication of viruses causing rhinitis: RSV virus in 42%; HSV-1 virus in 40%; parainfluenza type 2 in 30%) and reduces the risk of bacterial infections thanks to the use of natural active ingredients such as for example the Euphorbium resinifera and the pasque-flower (Pulsatilla pratensis). In turn, due to the presence of luffa operculata in the composition, the drug has antiallergic properties.
At the same time, it accelerates the regeneration of the mucosa. It also prevents excessive drying of the mucous membranes. Due to the fact that the drug is made on the basis of a physiological saline solution, it penetrates into the sinuses very easily and does not cause such ailments as pressure in the head or loss of freedom of breathing, and its effectiveness is not impaired even when used for more than a few days.
