Eucalyptus oil is a colorless substance with a characteristic taste and smell. It is obtained from fresh eucalyptus leaves in the process of their distillation with steam. Eucalyptus oil has an oily texture and is not too thick, and its fragrance is so intense that it repels mosquitoes, flies, insects and fleas. It is used for the production of ointments, lotions, creams, as a component of mouthwashes and for inhalation. It can be used to cleanse and disinfect the skin – the oil droplets dissolved in water create an ideal skin care fluid.

Eucalyptus oil – what are its properties?

It is characterized by high antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal activity. It is used to treat upper respiratory tract infections, runny nose, cough, sinusitis, and even rheumatic pains. Eucalyptus oil stimulates the body’s immune mechanisms. It relaxes the bronchi, liquefies the residual mucus, and clears the sinuses of the nose. It is also great for insect bites as it soothes itching. It brings relief from burns and has an expectorant and anti-inflammatory effect, which is why it is often used for inhalation.

Eucalyptus oil contains, among others: soaps, detergents, ecological cleaning agents. It cleans, refreshes and disinfects very well. It works like a strong deodorant, and a few drops added to the bath will have a relaxing and regenerating effect. Recently, the use of eucalyptus oil in aromatherapy has been gaining popularity. It combines very well with other essential oils, including rosemary, lavender, marjoram, cedar, thyme or various types of incense.

Its use: in cosmetology and natural medicine, it has a relaxing effect, soothes the senses, calms and reduces nervous tension. Eucalyptus oil can also be used in children after consulting a doctor.
