Indications for use of the drug Essentiale Forte
Essentiale Forte consists of phospholipids from soybean seeds that rebuild liver cell membranes. Essentiale Forte is given to patients who complain of problems related to the liver not working properly. One capsule contains 0,3 g of soybean phospholipids containing 3-sn-phosphatidylcholine.
Essentiale Forte – the composition of the drug
The Essentiale Forte preparation, apart from soybean phospholipids, includes:
- refined soybean oil;
- hydrogenated castor oil;
- hydrogenated glycerides of plant origin;
- higher fatty acid triglycerides;
- ethanol;
- ethyl vanillin;
- p-metoksyacetofenon;
- alpha-tokepherol.
In the drug shell there are i.a. gelatin, iron oxide, sodium laurilsulfate and purified water.
Essentiale Forte – properties
The drug Essentiale Forte primarily regenerates the liver parenchyma. Thanks to it, enzymes begin to secrete properly. Soybean phospholipids contained in the preparation have a positive effect on the functioning of the liver by rebuilding damaged cells. In addition, Essentiale Forte has an antiatherosclerotic effect, effectively reducing the level of bad cholesterol in the blood, as well as lipoproteins, which are one of the greatest risk factors for the occurrence of family hypercholesterolaemia.
Essentiale Forte is also effective in the treatment of gallstone disease, increasing the solubility of cholesterol in bile. It is also worth mentioning the effect of phospholipids from soybeans on improving the elasticity of erythrocytes (red blood cells).
Essentiale Forte – what is the dosage of the drug?
Essentiale Forte is available in capsules to be taken whole orally. Adults and children over 12 years of age can take two capsules three times a day. It is best to take the medications after a meal, according to the recommendations of the attending physician.
Essentiale Forte – contraindications
The main contraindication to the use of Essentiale Forte is hypersensitivity to any component of the drug. In addition, it must not be used in certain cases:
1. It must not be given to children under the age of 12;
2. The use of the preparation cannot replace the exclusion of harmful substances that cause liver damage (eg alcohol) from the diet.
3. In chronic hepatitis, the use of adjuvant treatment with the preparation is justified only when it improves the general well-being of the patient.
4. Soybean oil contained in the preparation may cause severe allergic reactions.
5. It is not recommended to use the preparation in pregnant and breastfeeding women due to the lack of data on the safety of its use.
Interactions of the drug Essentiale Forte with other substances
Essentiale Forte must not be combined with anticoagulants as it may inhibit their effect. Therefore, before starting the dosage of Essentiale Forte, talk to your doctor who will determine how many tablets you can take per day.
