Esseliv Max – action, dosage, contraindications, possible side effects

Esseliv Max is a medicinal product used to improve liver function, its regeneration and in cases of acute and chronic liver diseases. It can be damaged by many factors: drugs, alcohol, chemicals, viruses or a diet saturated with fat. Therefore, Esseliv Max is especially recommended for people who eat heavy dishes and consume larger amounts of alcohol.

The active substance and action of the drug Esseliv Max

Esseliv Max is a preparation in the form of hard capsules (30 pieces in the package), produced by Alofarm Farmacja Polska. One capsule contains 450 mg of soybean phospholipids, phosphatidylcholine rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids (linoleic acid) and ethanol in an amount less than 100 mg per dose of the drug. Esseliv Max is an over-the-counter medicinal product. The main active substance of the drug is phospholipids. They are found in abundance in the liver, blood and nervous tissue. Phospholipids are the basic building blocks of cell membranes. Esseliv Max has a hepatoprotective effect, which consists in supplementing the damaged membrane of liver cells with phospholipids. In this way, the liver function is regenerated and improved.

The use of Esseliv Max

The use of Esseliv Max is recommended in the case of acute or chronic hepatitis, which may be caused by toxins, drugs or alcohol. Large amounts of alcohol can initiate liver fibrosis. Esseliv Max inhibits this process and accelerates the elimination of fat deposits from hepatocytes. The preparation also supports the treatment of functional disorders of the liver, bile ducts and gallstone disease.

Dosage of the drug Esseliv Max

Esseliv Max is intended for oral use only. It should be used according to the exact description on the leaflet or according to the doctor’s instructions. Do not exceed the specified dose of the drug, as it may be harmful to your health.

1. For adults and adolescents, the dose is: 2 capsules (twice a day) for 2 or 3 months. Thereafter, the dose should be limited to 1 capsule (twice a day). Do not use more than 4 capsules of the drug a day.
2. Children weighing more than 15 kg should take 300 mg of the drug for 10 kg of body weight daily.

Esseliv Max – contraindications and possible side effects

Esseliv Max can not be used by people who are allergic to any of the ingredients of the drug – including soybeans and peanuts – and children weighing less than 15 kilograms. Sometimes certain diseases may be a contraindication to the use of Esseliv Max. In case of any doubts, it is recommended to consult a doctor, especially if there is no visible improvement in health after three months of treatment. It should be remembered that any drug may cause undesirable effects and certain side effects, as a result of which consultation with a doctor is recommended.

Side effects that may occur during the use of the drug are abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, nausea. Esseliv Max does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery or other devices that require concentration.

Esseliv Max – pregnancy and breastfeeding

The use of Esseliv Max during pregnancy or breastfeeding requires prior consultation with a doctor. It has not yet been definitively determined whether phospholipids can pass into human milk.
