Espumisan
Espumisan is a drug recommended for people with gastrointestinal problems. Especially in the presence of abdominal distension and gas. This drug brings long-term relief, especially in patients who have had surgery. The active substance of Espumisan is simethicone, which reduces the tension in the gas bubbles in the intestines and thus facilitates their release. These gases are then absorbed through the intestinal walls and removed from the tract by bowel movements. Espumisan additionally reduces the feeling of heaviness and tension in the abdomen, thus causing a noticeable relief.
Espumisan does not contain sugar and can be used by patients diagnosed with flatulence). It is also given to children before an ultrasound examination of the abdominal cavity, as well as radiological and gastroscopic examinations. In addition, espumisan drops are used in the treatment of colic in infants over 1 month of age and in the case of poisoning with surfactants.
The simethicone in the medicine breaks down and disperses the gases that have accumulated in the baby’s gastrointestinal tract, thereby providing relief for him. After oral administration, the drug is excreted unchanged through the gastrointestinal tract.
