Do you have an Oasis gas boiler installed? Then it will be useful for you to familiarize yourself with the typical malfunctions of this technique. During operation, the components of the device may fail. We will tell you how to recognize the problem and fix it yourself.
How the Oasis boiler works
The devices of this manufacturer are double-circuit. This means that the water heater can provide not only hot water in the tap, but also heating in the room. The heating temperature is from 35 to 60 degrees, the average productivity is 10 liters per minute.
The Oasis equipment runs on natural gas, therefore it can be installed in houses to which the main line is connected.
The boiler is equipped with two heat exchangers. One of them is responsible for providing water for heating batteries, the other for hot water supply (DHW). Accordingly, fuel consumption and heating waiting time are reduced in summer.
Combustion products are forced out. Closed chamber and coaxial chimney ensure automatic and safe operation. Flame sensors, gas supply, flow sensors are installed for control. A safety valve is also provided, which is activated when the pressure rises.
Not without fault control. The equipment is equipped with a self-diagnostic system. In the event of a malfunction, the display shows an error, the meaning of which is indicated in the instructions.
Major faults
What should I do if the scoreboard shows an error? How to fix the situation? First you need to decipher the meaning of the symbols on the screen, and only after that start looking for a breakdown.
Error codes and solutions
Consider what the symbols that the boiler shows mean.
E1 — Ignition problems, no ignition. What could be the reason:
- No fuel supply. Turn the shut-off valve, it may not be fully open. In case of strong or weak pressure in the gas line, contact the repair service;
- Weakened, clogged contacts. Check the connections from the control module to the ignition unit. Pull up the wire. If the contacts are oxidized, clean them and reconnect;
- Faulty control board. Diagnosis and replacement is best left to a specialist. But you can inspect the part yourself, look for burnouts and damage.
- Ignition electrode does not work. This happens if the part has shifted and is far from the burner. Remove the casing, inspect the elements and return the electrode to its place. Additionally, clean it with a metal brush. If the burner does not ignite after this, install a new electrode.
E2 – the fan has been running for 8 seconds, but the pressure switch does not close. What does it mean:
- no traction. Clogged pipe or chimney. To check, light a match and bring it to the control window. The flame deviated to the side – there is thrust, it burns evenly – no. You can bring a sheet of paper to the ventilation hole. With normal traction, it will tighten, and if the passage is clogged, the sheet will fall.
In this case, you need to clean the chimney from your side, and call the public utilities to clean it from the street. Open the combustion chamber. You will see that there are two tubes connected to the manostat (pressure regulator), which also need to be cleaned;
- Broken air relay. You can verify the malfunction of the part using a tester;
- Fan does not work. The item is inspected for damage. Tubes are held to it, which could melt and need to be replaced. Then start the boiler and close the contacts of the manostat. If the burner lights up, the manostat is broken, if not, the main unit.
- Electronics problems. Perhaps the wiring contacts have come off, the insulation is broken. All elements are inspected and tightened.
E3 — The inlet DHW temperature sensor has failed. Diagnose the sensor and wiring. Replace defective parts.
E4 — broken DHW output sensor. Proceed in the same way as in the case of E3.
E5 — heating sensor does not work. Similar actions.
E6 – there is no flame. What to do:
- Restart. To do this, open and close the mixer several times until ignition occurs. It is likely that air has accumulated inside, which prevents normal ignition;
- Pull the pins to the connectors, make sure the integrity of the insulation.
E7 – Low line pressure. What could be causing the problem:
- Too little water. It is possible that one of the connections has begun to leak. Apply a dry cloth to the joints to check for leaks. Seal the connection, tighten the nuts more tightly and eliminate the leak;
- Incorrect pressure is set in the distribution tank. It is necessary to adjust the settings as indicated in the instructions for a particular model. As the liquid heats up, it expands, causing the pressure to rise. Because of this, the safety valve works and dumps excess water.
E8 — water overheats. What is the reason:
- Heating valve closed, you need to open it;
- Hot water or heating systems overheat. Diagnose the operation of the bypass valve, as well as the degree of flow of hot liquid.
E9 — system pressure is not correct. The pump is broken, so the burner may not ignite.
- Line pressure must be at least 0,1–0,15 bar;
- Remove the pump. Clean its parts from blockage, rinse under running water. Inspect the elements for damage, especially the blades.
- Faulty thermal sensor. Diagnose and replace.
We examined all the errors typical for Oasis gas boilers. In addition, users are faced with such a malfunction as a lack of heating: when the mixer is opened, there is no hot flow. This indicates a turbine failure. It cannot be repaired, it is better to install a new one.
Shut off the gas and water supply before starting work on the equipment. If the error code does not disappear from the screen after all the efforts made, contact a specialist. It is not necessary to carry out independent work with the gas line – it is dangerous and can lead to an accident.
