Do you use the Senor Duval gas boiler? Then check out the brand trouble codes. Forewarned is forearmed: error values will help you quickly determine the location of the breakdown and avoid serious problems with operation.
The device and operation of the Saunier Duval boiler
The company produces boilers in several variations. This is Saunier Duval Isofast. Wall-mounted double-circuit devices designed to work in two directions: for heating and hot water supply (DHW). Convenient electronic ignition allows you to instantly get a hot stream.
The Thema Classic line is perfectly adapted to our working conditions. The system works stably even with constant pressure drops in the gas pipeline. The heating temperature is controlled by flame modulation. Convenient control saves the set settings even during a power outage. In addition, Senor Duval models are resistant to power surges.
Errors and malfunctions of gas equipment
The decoding of the codes can be found in the instructions. Usually the manufacturer writes in laconic technical language, which does not clarify the situation for the user. Therefore, we have compiled a table of detailed descriptions.
The first cause of malfunctions on the display is a system failure. Restart boiler. If the code lights up again when restarting, then proceed to study our instructions and repair the equipment yourself.
Malfunction code | Which means | How to fix it yourself |
F1 | The system does not recognize the flame, or it goes out when ignited. | Diagnose the flame electrode. Clean its contacts during oxidation, replace with a serviceable part. |
F2 | Not enough air. | Check:
|
F3 | Repeated error F2. Ventilation problems. | See solution for F2. |
F4 | Flame control failure. | What to do:
|
F5 | The DHW overheating protection has tripped. The temperature is over 95 degrees. | Check that water is circulating normally through the system:
After the problem is solved, press the thermostat button, the operation will be restored. It is forbidden to press the key if the cause is not eliminated. Overheating can damage the boiler. |
F6 | The heating circuit sensor has failed. | Inspect the wiring and sensor contacts. In the event of a short circuit (short circuit), install a new part. |
F7 | Thermostat defective. | Perform a replacement. |
F8 | The water heater thermistor has failed. | Perform product diagnostics for a short circuit or open circuit. Pull contacts. |
F9 | Problems with the heating circuit. | Check the pressure sensor, as well as its circuits for operability. |
F10 | Output thermistor broken. | See algorithm for F8. |
F11 | Failure of the user panel, its control board. | Inspect the pins and wiring between the main and control board. |
F12 | Error on the EBUS line. | Measure the EBUS voltage for compliance with the parameters. |
F13 | Electronic board failure. | Inspect the board, connections, installed code. After that, restart the system. Also inspect the uninterruptible power supply for serviceability. |
F14 | Circuit overheating protection has tripped. The temperature was over 95 degrees. | The hydraulic resistance of the heat exchanger exceeds the norm. The fluid does not circulate well through the system. Possibly the wrong antifreeze was used. Fill in a new coolant and connect a serviceable heat exchanger. |
F15 | Gas stepper motor failure. | Diagnose the node and its wiring. |
F16 | Flame problems. After turning it off, it does not go out for another 5 seconds. | Contact the master. |
F17 | The voltage has dropped. | Connect a voltage stabilizer. |
F18 | Problems in the user interface. | Diagnose and replace the board. |
F19 | The overheat lock has been activated. | Make sure the temperature sensors are connected correctly. Connect new parts. |
F20 | The control panel does not fit the circuit. | Run panel and circuit diagnostics. |
F21 | Low fluid pressure. | Adjust the circulation pump. Make sure the pressure sensor is working. |
F22 | High fluid pressure. | |
F23 | Problem with circulation system. | Open the valves at the heating circuit inlet. Replace pump. |
Other faults
Those problems that are not displayed by the code, you can determine yourself. Breakdowns are expressed by malfunctions in the operation of the boiler.
The heating circuit or DHW does not heat up.
- If the hot water supply is heated by a boiler, check its connections, correct connection.
- Inspect for serviceability: gas fittings, ignition unit, chimney. If clogged, clean one of the parts.
The hot water is heating up, but there is no heating. Or vice versa.
First of all, make sure that the three-way valve that switches flows between systems is working.
- Adjust the settings from summer to winter mode.
- Carry out diagnostics of thermal sensors.
In the absence of hot water supply:
- Fully open the stopcocks.
- Clean pressure detector.
- Clean the water filters from dirt.
- Remove scale from the heat exchanger.
- Clean the filter in the mixer.
Bad water heating.
What you need to see:
- NTC thermistor;
- three-way valve;
- set mode;
- pressure quality.
Batteries do not heat up well.
- Set the thermostats to a higher value.
- Make sure there is no leak in the system. Seal damaged connections.
- Run diagnostics on the thermistor.
Now you know how to troubleshoot with your own hands. Adhere to safety precautions before starting work.
