Error tE, tC, EC – solving the problem of the Samsung washing machine

Error tE, tC, EC occurs on all types of Samsung machines – conventional washing machines and with a drying mode. It can occur immediately after the door is locked or after water has been drawn in, when the washing machine rotates the drum for 5-10 minutes.

The main reason is a heating problem.

What does the error say

Error code tE indicates problems with the water temperature sensor that monitors the heating of the Samsung SM. The washing machine is not receiving or receiving incorrect information from the sensor.

Usually, the error tC, tE, EC is displayed on the display when the voltage level of the water heating sensor is less than 0,2 V or more than 4,5 V.

The EU error is an analogue of the tE code, only it is typical for Samsung machines until 2007 of production.

The Samsung washing machine can issue varieties of the tE code – tE1, tE2, tE3. Here’s what these codes mean:

  • tE1 indicates problems with the drying temperature sensor;
  • tE2 indicates a problem with the fan housing sensor;
  • tE3 indicates a malfunction of the condensate flow sensor, which appears during the drying process.

Often the washing machine displays the code tE at the beginning of the wash before heating the water. And varieties of this fault code appear on the display after washing and spinning, when you need to move on to drying things.

When errors tE, TC1, TC2, TC3, TC4, EC are lit on the washer display, in rare cases it is possible to remove the error yourself, since they signal malfunctions.

Why the error occurs

What these codes mean is now clear. But in order to understand how to fix a washing machine, you need to know about the causes of codes. The washer gives an error tE when:

  • Temporary failure in the operation of the control module;
  • Poor connection of the contacts of the temperature sensor or heating element;
  • “Glitch” of the temperature sensor.

How to fix the problem yourself

What to do when the code tE, tC, EC is displayed:

  1. In the event of a failure in the control module, turn off the machine from the network, wait a few minutes, and then start the washing process again;
  2. In case of poor contacts in the temperature sensor or heating element, move them as if inserting a plug into a socket;
  3. In case of an error in the readings of the sensors, reset the incorrect readings by pressing the corresponding correction button. These buttons are equipped with more modern models of Samsung washing machines.

This is how the problem is solved, if the matter does not consist in a serious breakdown. To fix the problem, you need to call the wizard, who will reset the error and bring the machine to a working state.

When to Call a Master

To eliminate the breakdown, you need to call a specialist if:

  • The fault indication is displayed after washing starts or before the water is heated. Most often, the matter is in a faulty temperature sensor responsible for heating the water. In this case, you need to change the heating element.
  • The washing machine does not heat water and gives an error a few minutes after starting the program. It’s a faulty heating element that needs to be replaced.
  • The washer is blocking the door and will not wash or dry. The point is a faulty control module – it may be necessary to completely replace the entire module.
  • The washing machine shows the codes tE1, tE2, tE3. It is necessary to change the temperature sensors of the heating element, the fan housing and the condensate temperature, respectively.

You can deal with the tE code yourself if there is no serious breakdown. In the event of a breakdown, it is necessary to entrust the matter to professionals who will fix the problem and extend the life of the washing machine.
