Error F8 in Atlant washing machines – reset and repair

The Atlant washing machine shows the error code F8 on the display. At the same time, you notice that too much water is being drawn into the tank.

To figure out how to fix the situation, you need to figure out what fault code F8 means.

On electromechanical models without a display, the first LED is lit.

What does error F8 mean

When the Atlant washing machine displays an F8 error on the screen, this indicates that there are problems with filling the tank. For some reason, the washer takes too much water.

Before fixing the breakdown, it is necessary to check whether the drain system in the Atlant washing machine is connected correctly.

What to do to troubleshoot

Remove the error code if F8 is displayed, and the following actions will help solve the problem:

  • If connected incorrectly, the drain hose is below or above the washer tank. The location of the hose at a level of 50 cm from the floor is considered correct; if the location is incorrect, self-draining occurs. As a result, SM Atlant begins to draw even more water. Read the user manual for reinstallation.
  • Another reason may be the “siphon effect”: pressure rises in the sewer, water drains. Consequently, the Atlant washing machine constantly takes and pours water. What can be done: put an anti-drain valve on the drain hose.
  • Check the tightness of the tank in the Atlant washing machine.

You have checked everything, but it was not possible to reset the F8 error. This means that the cause of the problem is somewhere else.

Washing machine troubleshooting and repair

It is quite possible to independently diagnose a breakdown. You just need to understand what causes the appearance of an error on the scoreboard. Since the matter is an excess of water, you need to inspect the intake valve and the pressure switch (pressure sensor).

Filling valve

The valve is powered by electricity and opens when voltage is applied to its coils. The voltage supply is interrupted – the valve is closed. A sign of a breakdown of this part is the continuous supply of water, even when the CMA Atlant is turned off.

What does it mean? Open the dispenser tray. Pay attention to whether there is water in it, although the wash has not been started – in this case, a valve malfunction can be diagnosed. More reliably, the part is checked with a multimeter.

You can read more about this in the article about the F5 error.

Pressure sensor

Upon reaching the required water level for washing, the pressure switch sends a signal to the control module, the water supply stops. It is clear that a failure of the pressure sensor can lead to overflow.

How to test and replace the pressure switch:

  1. Disconnect the Atlant washing machine from the network.
  2. After unscrewing the rear mounting bolts, remove the top cover.
  3. The sensor is located at the top, near the side wall.
  4. Disconnect the pressure switch hose and inspect for damage or blockage.
  5. Disconnect the connector with wires and pull out the sensor.

Now you can check it. Connect a short tube of similar diameter to the hose attachment point, blow lightly into it. If clicks are heard (which means switching modes), the device is working. If nothing is heard, install a new sensor.

  • Connect the connector to the new pressure sensor.
  • Pay attention to the latches on the back of the device. Fasten it to a special cutout located on the body of the Atlant washing machine.
  • Pull the hose onto the pressure switch fitting.
  • Replace the top panel.

In addition, inspect the electrical circuits from the sensor to the module. If the wires are broken, the pressure switch simply cannot send a signal to the control module. Then you need to replace individual wires or the entire cable.

It remains to start the wash and check the performance of SM Atlant.

Error code F8 no longer glows on the screen? This means that the problem has been fixed and you have found a solution to the problem.
