What to do if the Atlant washing machine does not turn on or does not start washing? The error code F7 may appear on the display, and on models without a screen, the 2nd, 3rd and 4th indicators are lit.
For SM Atlant, error F7 stands for a malfunction with electricity or incorrect indicators of the electrical network.
To understand how to fix the problem, let’s look for the causes of the breakdown.
Causes and troubleshooting
When turned on, the Atlant washing machine gives an error code F7. There are situations when the washer does not turn on at all. What do these signs mean?
To solve the problem, do the following:
- Check mains voltage. For normal operation of the SMA Atlant, the voltage must be at least 220 volts. How to check it at home? Plug any household appliance into an outlet. If it functions as usual, then everything is in order. Not working – not enough voltage. This can happen when the network is overloaded. In this case, you can wait, or you can call an electrician to clarify the circumstances.
- Ring the power cord. You need to start with a visual inspection of the cord. Perhaps he was damaged somewhere, melted. If there are no obvious signs of a problem, use a multimeter: ring all 3 wires of the cord one by one. If there is a problem, the power cord must be replaced.
- Extension test. It is recommended to connect the Atlant washing machine directly to the outlet, but not everyone has such an opportunity. Connect any household appliance to the extension cord socket into which the washing machine is connected. Appliance not working? So it’s time to change the extension cord.
If SM Atlant turns on, but does not start washing, how to fix the situation?
Try to remove the F7 error by rebooting. Unplug the plug from the outlet for 15-20 minutes, then turn it on. Is the error gone? Congratulations, everything worked out. If F7 is displayed again, go to the next step.
Breakdown search and repair
Atlant washing machines provide protection against power surges. This function is performed by an element of the power cord – a noise filter (capacitor).
The device protects the washing machine control board from damage. Unfortunately, the filter only handles small power surges. With strong pulses, the capacitor burns out – and it’s good if the control module does not suffer.
The user can protect his Atlant washing machine from power surges. You need to install a voltage stabilizer.
You need to check the condition of the filter or replace it. What does it mean:
- Disconnect SM Atlant from the network.
- After unscrewing the screws at the back, remove the top panel of the machine.
- At the top you will see a capacitor (look for a similar part, as in the photo).
- Inspect the filter for burns, swelling, liquid formation under it.
- Loosen the fixing screws on the rear panel.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors, remove the capacitor.
- Connect the probes of the tester (multimeter) to the filter contacts.
- Measure input and output voltage.
- If it is absent at the output, the device is faulty and needs to be replaced.
The new element is installed in the reverse order. The video shows how to replace:
If, after checking, the F7 error is again shown on the display of the Atlant washing machine, the control board element is most likely damaged.
You can ring the electronics with a multimeter at home, but it is better to entrust the repair and replacement to the master.
