Bosch washing machine gives error code F25, what does it mean?
If your machine shows fault code F25 on the display, it means that there is a problem with the water turbidity sensor. In this case, the machine starts the washing process, but cannot complete it or stops in the middle of the program and does not respond to commands.
Why does the machine show error F25
How to fix the situation and resolve the error code yourself:
- Clear the drain system of blockage. To do this, at the bottom of the Bosch washing machine, remove the drain filter, clean it of debris. Also check the drain hose. It can be rinsed under the pressure of tap water.
- Check the turbidity sensor (Aqua-Sensor). As a result of scale, it ceases to function normally, so do not forget to carry out prophylaxis with anti-scale agents.
- The sensor may be triggered if dirty water has entered the drain. To fix the problem, set the washing mode to 60 or 90 degrees and run the Bosch washing machine to rinse.
How to reset the code
In order to remove the F25 error that is on the Bosch washer display, do the following:
- Try rebooting the system. What to do: Unplug the SM completely from electricity for 15-20 minutes. Turn on and check. Error F25 again highlighted in the Bosch washing machine? Then go to the second point.
- To reset the error, turn off the machine with the button on the control panel. Now turn the knob to “Rinse” mode. After the code lights up, while holding the spin button, turn the knob to seven o’clock. Hold your finger on the button for exactly 15 seconds. Turn off the Bosch washer on the panel and unplug it from the outlet. After switching on, error F 25 should disappear. Video on the topic will help:
If the recommendations did not help solve the problem and remove the error, check other SM Bosch parts.
Checking and replacing parts
The likely causes of the problem are:
Water level sensor (pressostat)
It is necessary to exclude a malfunction of the level sensor, which means that it is necessary to check it. To do this, unscrew the top cover of the machine and find the pressure switch near the wall. Check its wires and connections, and then the device itself.
Disconnect the pressure switch hose and install a small tube in its place. Blowing into the tube, you should hear clicks. This means that the sensor is OK. If in response to your actions – silence, you need to replace the sensor.
Drain pump
To check if the drain pump is malfunctioning, remove its filter and look into the hole. If you shine a flashlight, you will see the pump impeller. All that is needed is to make sure that the impeller is spinning during operation. If so, then the pump is OK. If not, you need to get to the pump and find out the cause of the problem.
The turbidity sensor can be checked last, as the device breaks very rarely. If defective, install a new element.
After the repair, start and check the Bosch washing machine. If the washing goes well, the F25 error code is not displayed, which means that your efforts were not in vain.
