The first time errors with codes 1C, E7 and 1E can be displayed at any stage of washing. When the equipment is restarted, malfunction signals appear immediately after the start, even before water is collected. They talk about pressure switch failures.
In washing machines not equipped with a display, E7 correspond to:
- flashing of all indicator lights;
- illumination of temperature indicators at 40 and 60 degrees;
- the “cold” wash cycle light is on.
The E7 error in the Samsung washing machine was used until 2007. In later products, the same problem corresponds to error 1E. In some washing machines, a similar problem is coded under the sign 1C. These fault codes are completely similar to each other and are caused by the same set of problems.
Ignoring the malfunction notifications that appear on the screen of the washing machine can lead to serious malfunctions in the operation of the equipment. Sometimes it is possible to remove the error and fix the malfunctions without calling the wizard.
But first you need to understand what kind of difficulty the washer signals and what the code shown by the technique means.
What’s broken
Errors E7 (1C or IE) signal a problem with the water level sensor (aka pressure switch). In most cases, this means that the part needs to be repaired or replaced.
There are also “false” alarms, when the malfunction can be eliminated without involving the master. Let’s figure out what error E7 and its analogues mean.
What to do if there is a failure in the control module
To test this option, disconnect the equipment from the network for a few minutes and reconnect. If the reason is the failure of the washing machine controller, after a forced restart, the malfunction signal will disappear.
If the washer still shows an error on the display, go to the next diagnostic item.
The pressure switch tube is disconnected from the machine or bent
Inspect the hose connecting the pressure tap to the water level sensor. When using the washing machine, the tube may be bent or move away from the connector. In this case, the relay cannot correctly measure the volume of water poured into the tank, and issues a fault message – the display will show error E7.
Straighten or reconnect the hose, and the normal operation of the Samsung washing machine will be restored.
No contact with pressure switch or electronic module
In case of incomplete contact with the electronics of the unit, the relay that determines the water level does not work correctly and knocks out error E7. Check if the electronic units of the washer are tightly fixed.
If after the checks the problems do not disappear and the equipment gives an error again, the hardware is probably faulty.
How to fix serious problems
Errors 1E, 1C or e7 most often result in the failure of some elements. The table will help you figure out how to fix problems.
Malfunction | Possible reasons | What to do |
The machine does not fill with water, error E7 on the scoreboard. | The hose is clogged, incorrectly connected or mechanically damaged. The relay is broken. | Check the tightness of the connection of the drain hose with the washer outlet, eliminate the kinks. Make sure the hose is intact. Replace damaged hose or relay (with the help of a specialist). |
Error codes are knocked out on the display immediately after the equipment is started. | The problem is in the electronic control module of the washing machine. | For an accurate diagnosis, you need a specialist. If the resistor burned out in the module, it is enough to solder it. If the problem arose in the processor of the washing machine itself, a complete replacement of the unit is needed. |
The technique shows errors some time after the start of the wash. | The sensor contacts are oxidized, the integrity of the wiring of the pressure switch or the electronic unit is broken. | It is necessary to establish the current supply by cleaning the contacts, re-twisting the wires, changing the cable. |
If the error reset could not be achieved on your own, E7 is still on the screen and you do not know how to fix the problem – it is better to entrust the repair to the master.
Trying to fix a problem caused by an electronic system failure by a non-specialist can result in the need for more complex (and more expensive) repairs.
