Is the E15 error on a Siemens dishwasher? This means that the self-diagnosis system responded to a breakdown that occurred – a leak.
Siemens dishwashers are distinguished by modern technologies and programs. The electronic board controls all processes in the machine, therefore, as soon as a malfunction occurs, the system displays an error code on the display. Knowing its meaning in more detail, you can quickly troubleshoot.
Why is PMM throwing an error
The E 15 icons on the scoreboard indicate the operation of the Aquastop protection (the decoding is also indicated in the instructions). In this case, the equipment turns off and may emit a sound signal. The protection system is triggered by overflow or water leakage. You can hear the drain pump start to pump out water, but the control panel will not respond to pressing.
What to do in this case? You need to find the cause of the problem. For this you need to check:
- connections of branch pipes and hoses, as well as their integrity;
- correct connection to the plumbing system;
- filters and drain system for clogging;
- sensor “Aquastop” for serviceability;
- water level sensor.
Why else could a dishwasher show a fault code? The reason could be the wrong detergent. Excess foam leads to leakage and an error.
How to fix the problem
Eliminate a system failure by rebooting the machine and clearing the error. To do this, disconnect the equipment from the network for 10-15 minutes, then reconnect. If the code is still on the screen, then proceed to the test.
You can find out if there really was a leak like this:
- Close the inlet valve.
- Disconnect water supply and drain.
- Pull the PMM out of the cabinet (if it is a built-in model).
- Lay down a cloth and tilt the dishwasher forward. If water pours out of the pan, then it’s a leak. If not, then there is a problem with the contacts or the control module. In this case, it is better to contact the master.
If the problem is a leak, you need to find the leak as soon as possible. To do this, remove the top and back panels, connect the dishwasher to water and electricity and make a test run.
Now it remains to observe where the water will start to drip from. Found a defective part? Turn off the equipment again and start repairing.
How to fix the situation if a metal bunker is leaking? You can try to close the crack with cold welding. Just pre-prepare the surface: clean and degrease. In severe cases, you will have to buy new equipment.

Timely cleaning of the filter is the prevention of leakage. When the filter is heavily clogged, excess pressure builds up in the nozzles, so they break. Cleaning should be done at least twice a month. How to do it:
- open the bunker door;
- pull out the lower basket;
- unscrew the filter in the pan;
- rinse with water pressure.
