What does the error say and why does it occur

If you have an old model of the machine, do not confuse the drain error with a problem in the heating element – E5.
The washing machine stops washing and does not drain the water if:

How to fix the problem yourself
Here’s what to do if a Samsung automatic machine gives an SE error due to a dirty drain filter:
- Turn off the washing machine;
- Open the plastic cover, under which the hose and the filter for draining in emergency mode “hide”;
- Remove the plug from the drain hose and let the water drain into a suitable container;
- Unscrew the filter screw by turning it counterclockwise and remove it;
- Clean the filter from debris and dirt;
- Put the filter back, fasten the screw and plug the hose with a plug;
- Close the lid.
After that, the washer should normally drain the water. But if this does not help, the SE error reappears, then you need to check if there is a blockage in the sewer, if the drain hose is kinked, if there are blockages in it.
Perhaps there was a “glitch” in the control unit, so you need to turn off the washer, and then turn it on again after 5-10 minutes.

How to remove a blockage in a drain and sewer hose
If a fault code 5E occurs, which is associated with a blockage in the drain hose, proceed as follows:
- Disconnect the drain hose from the washing machine;
- Rinse it with a powerful jet of water;
- Bend and unbend the hose while flushing to remove all dirt and reset the error.
If the SE error is lit on the display, then this may be due to a lot of dirt and debris in the sewer pipe. This is indicated by the fact that water does not leave not only from the washing machine, but also through the sink. To fix this problem, you need to do this:
- Remove the siphon plug and rinse all its “insides”;
- Pour a substance into the sewer pipe to eliminate blockages;
- Clean the sewer with a wire bent at the end.
When to call the master
If 5E is displayed during the operation of the washer, then sometimes the code indicates:
- Drain pump malfunction. You will need to replace it;
- Broken electronic controller. It is necessary to replace the burnt elements of the microcircuit or solder the burnt contacts;
- Damage to the wiring connecting the drain pump and the controller. The place of the break is being restored or the cable with wires is completely changed.
