Erdinger

Erdinger is a brand of Bavarian beer that has been produced by Germany’s largest family brewery since 1886. A distinctive feature of the Erdinger Weissbier is the traditional recipe and classic brewing technology. The company does not use fragrances, dyes, or other chemical components. In the manufacture of beer, artesian water from 160-meter wells, exquisite hops, special varieties of local wheat and barley, and unique Erdinger yeast, which are grown at the brewery, are used.

The technology is characteristic of Bavarian non-vanity. Slow maturation takes place directly in the bottle, which brings the production of an intoxicating drink closer to the production of champagne. Beer is not artificially carbonated, but contains many small bubbles of carbon dioxide.

Currently, the company produces about 1,8 million hectoliters of intoxicating drink and supplies it to more than 90 countries, including Russia. The Erdinger Weissbräu Brewery has a principled policy of waiving licensing agreements for its products. Each bottle is produced in-house in Bavaria and contains authentic Erdinger beer of consistent quality.

Historical information

Brewery “Weisse Bräuhaus” in the Bavarian town of Erding was founded in 1886 and initially specialized in the production of wheat beer. In 1930 the company was acquired by the FW Otto malt factory, and five years later the then director Franz Brombach bought the brewery. In the late 40s, the brewery received its current name Erdinger Weißbräu.

The mid-sixties were marked by a change in vector after the son of the owner, Werner Brombach, joined the management of the enterprise. Erdinger beer, previously sold exclusively in Bavaria, began to be delivered to other lands of Germany, and in the early 70s, branded Weissbier began to be exported to Austria. In 1983, a new brewhouse was built on the outskirts of Erding, after the launch of which the annual capacity of the plant reached 600 thousand, and in 1990 it surpassed the mark of one million hectoliters.

At the turn of the millennium, the leadership made an extraordinary decision to release non-alcoholic beer “Erdinger”, focused mainly on athletes. In 2017, the existing one was modernized and two new bottling lines were launched with a total hourly capacity of 165 bottles. Today, the products of the brewery are represented on all continents.
