Reality: laser hair removal does not require special preparation, the hairs should be a maximum of 0,5 mm. Most often, salons use lasers with a special dynamic cooling system in order to protect the skin pigment melanin from overheating and reduce the risk of painful sensations, so anesthesia is not required for such a procedure. I went to the OTTIMO clinic for my debut laser hair removal. I was surprised that epilation of the deep bikini area takes no more than 10 minutes! During the procedure, a slight tingling sensation is felt, but it passes quickly.

Some hairs may remain after the procedure, but they fall out after a week. The result is perfect smooth skin for up to two months. Then you need to repeat the procedure and forget about epilation for another six months. For some, the hair may disappear forever, but in most cases, you will have to repeat the trip to laser hair removal once every six months or a year, everything is individual. I believe this is the best epilation method, and the six months that you don’t think about is worth it. A big plus of this method is that in the intervals between procedures, if suddenly small hairs begin to interfere, you can use a razor, and this will not aggravate the process, unlike wax epilation.

– Waxing is one of the most common ways to get rid of unwanted body hair. During this procedure, heated wax is applied to the skin, and after hardening, it is removed with one jerk using special strips.

Expectations: this type of hair removal is considered one of the most effective due to the long-term preservation of the result. In different salons, the prices for this procedure are completely different, but most often there is a price tag from 2 to 3 thousand rubles for a bikini area. Of course, you can find it cheaper. It is assumed that the skin remains smooth for about two weeks, but this, however, depends primarily on the type of skin and hair.

Result: the most important thing I want to say is about pain. It hurts like hell, but due to the peculiarities of the skin in the bikini area, the unpleasant sensations disappear very quickly, literally in a second. The more often and more regularly this “execution” is performed on oneself, the less painful it will be later.

The skin gets used to it and does not react to pain in the same way. In addition, hair grows thin and weak even after the first waxing, and it is easier to remove them during the next procedure. After waxing, the skin turns very pink, I even bruised a couple of times. However, the skin burning sensation and irritation disappear the next day. But the result lasts about one and a half weeks. After this period, the hair begins to grow back slowly.

At the same time, they are very thin and barely noticeable, and if desired, they can be independently corrected with tweezers. The waxing method is the most optimal for me. In addition to pain, everything in it is perfect: smooth skin, minimum irritation and ingrown hairs. The most important thing here is to find the right master perfectionist. Mine, for example, almost under a magnifying glass, studies the work done, and during the process itself performs breathing exercises with me to relieve pain.

– For all the time when I do epilation, I have come to the conclusion that for using at home the epilator is the best method for me.

Expectations: Wax strips – very painful! Yes, this is one movement, but feeling painful sensations on the whole leg at once turned out to be excessive for me. In addition, it annoys me that you can’t wash off the wax residues just like that and you have to use special products. Sugaring is more gentle, but it turns out to be too much fuss with making pasta if you do it yourself. Therefore the epilator.

Reality: I have the simplest one, Braun Silk-epil 5. Now epilators offer a lot of additional devices to make the process easier, but of all I find it useful only a flashlight: with illumination you see the treated area much better. I think that a wireless model would also be more convenient, because during operation the wire is constantly twisted and tangled.

The attachments may be useful to someone, but for some reason I never had a need to use them. When choosing an epilator, pay attention to the number of tweezers – the more there are, the cleaner the epilation will be, but, really, the more painful. The plus is that these tweezers are able to capture even short hairs, while they are not long enough to remove with wax or sugar. And of course, this is one of the most inexpensive types of epilation: having bought one, even the most expensive epilator, you have been using it for several years.

– Removing hairs with wax strips is, in my opinion, the fastest and most effective way to epilate. The method of application is extremely simple: you rub the strips in your palms for a few seconds (so that they warm up), then apply one of them to the skin area and remove it with a sharp movement.

Expectations: what does every girl expect from epilation? Of course, perfectly smooth legs without redness and swelling!

Reality: let’s be honest, the first time we failed to achieve the desired effect. Until you understand the simple technology, the procedure resembles … a two-hour torture! But the second time, things went faster. And when I filled my hand, the whole procedure began to take no more than 15 minutes.

Result? Velvet skin for three weeks. Ideally! One thing: the procedure is not much cheaper than a salon. When deciding to arrange a spa at home, you need to understand that one package will only be enough for you once. The only thing is that you save time. You don’t have to sign up anywhere and then drive through the whole city.
