Entoloma harvested is an inedible, toxic mushroom that is ubiquitous. In the literary sources, representatives of the Entolomov family were called pink platinum. There are only scientific synonyms for the species: Entoloma conferendum, Nolanea conferenda, Nolanea rickenii, Rhodophyllus staurosporus, Rhodophyllus rickenii.
What does Entoloma look like when assembled
Medium-sized mushrooms do not have an attractive appearance that makes you want to put them in a basket. By themselves, these gifts of the forest are low, due to which it is not always possible to detect them.
Cap Description
The diameter of the cap of Entoloma collected is up to 5 cm. Its main characteristics are:
- in young representatives of the species of conical shape, with a tucked border;
- in old ones it is open, sometimes almost flat or convex, with a small tubercle;
- the top is smooth, in the middle there are small, fibrous scales;
- the shade of the skin is dark, brown-gray, brown;
- the plates are frequent, do not touch the stem, the young are white, then gradually, as they grow older, they become more saturated – to a dark pink color;
- the pulp of the harvested Entoloma is saturated with moisture.
Description of the leg
The height of a thin, even cylindrical leg is 2-8 cm, diameter is from 2 to 7 mm. From top to bottom, the fibrous leg slightly expands, covered with weak pubescence. The color of the surface is brown-brown, sometimes dark gray. There is no ring.
Is the mushroom edible or not?
Entoloma harvested is inedible and poisonous. For food, such specimens are not suitable.
Symptoms of poisoning, first aid
When using a toxic species collected by Entoloma, the first signs of poisoning are noticeable after 1,5 hours. The condition worsens after a few hours:
- the patient is sick;
- the inflammatory process affects fever and severe colic in the abdomen;
- frequent bowel movements;
- hands and feet become cold;
- the pulse is hard to feel.
It is necessary to drink plenty of fluids, the use of enterosorbents, gastric lavage and enema, if there are no items. With a noticeable deterioration in the patient’s condition, they are immediately sent to a medical institution. Loss of time with vivid symptoms of poisoning after eating forest gifts threatens not only with poor health, but sometimes with death.
Where and how to grow
Poisonous entoloma is found in all areas of the European continent. The species lives on poor soils, in lowlands, even on mountain slopes. Appears from mid-summer to late September.
Twins and their differences
The harvested Entoloma has no edible counterparts. There is a slight resemblance to the same poisonous Entoloma squeezing, which is larger in size.
Conclusion
Entoloma collected only by mistake can be caught among good mushrooms. Close attention is needed when collecting different species of the entoloma family. It is better to take only well-known specimens.
