Enterosgel is a preparation whose action is based on the properties of the active substance. Polymethylsiloxane polyhydrate belongs to the group of organosilicon polymers. Thanks to its porous structure, it contributes to absorbing harmful substances, including pathogens, toxins and allergens, and then helps remove them from the body.
The preparation has a strong cleansing effect, and thus supports the proper functioning of the digestive tract. It works well in relieving the symptoms of diseases accompanied by diarrhea. Detoxification with Enterosgel also supports immunity and the overall functioning of the body’s processes.

Enterosgel – composition
The Enterosgel medical device consists of polymethylsiloxane polyhydrate (70%) and purified water (30%). The preparation does not contain ingredients such as lactose, sugar, sweeteners, fats, gluten, dyes, preservatives or flavors.
Enterosgel – purpose and dosage
Enterosgel is a medical device that supports the detoxification of the body in the case of:
- acute gastroenteritis;
- allergic diseases with gastrointestinal symptoms;
- irritable bowel syndrome of the diarrheal type (IBS-D).
The preparation can also be used as an adjuvant in the treatment of diarrheal diseases.
The preparation is available in the form of sachets (15 g), tubes (90 g or 225 g), and also an oral suspension.
Dosage of the product Enterosgel
Enterosgel should be used according to the recommendations of the doctor or the manufacturer. The recommended dosage of the preparation according to the leaflet is as follows:
- adults and children over 15 years of age – 3 times a day, take a portion of the preparation in the amount of 15-22,5 g (15 g is one tablespoon;
- children aged 7-14 – give 3 g of the preparation 10 times a day (the equivalent of such a portion is 2 teaspoons);
- children aged 1-6 – Give 3 g of the preparation 5 times a day (the equivalent of such a portion is one teaspoon.
Enterosgel should be used 1-2 hours before or after eating / taking medications. Immediately before taking, first shake the tube with the product. A portion of the preparation should be washed down with a sufficient amount of liquid. For adults and children over 7 it is 200 ml, for younger children (from 1 to 6 years) – 50-100 ml.
Enterosgel – contraindications to use
In some cases related to the patient’s health, the use of the Enterosgel medical device is not recommended. Enterosgel must not be used in patients with:
- hypersensitivity to the supplement – the occurrence of hypersensitivity is determined on the basis of symptoms that appeared with previous use;
- intestinal atony, i.e. loss of physiological muscle tone, leading to the arrest of intestinal peristalsis;
- intestinal obstruction.
Enterosgel – warnings
The main warnings when taking Enterosgel concern the following:
- do not exceed recommended doses;
- the medical device cannot be used by children under 1 year of age;
- in case of taking other oral medications, it is recommended to consult a doctor or pharmacist first, and also follow the following rule – take Enterosgel 1–2 hours apart from other medications.
Enterosgel – drug interactions
According to the leaflet, Enterosgel may interact with some oral medications and affect their absorption. That is why:
- tell your doctor if you are taking other medications – including over-the-counter medications
- take the preparation 1-2 hours before or after taking medications.
Enterosgel – side effects
Enterosgel, like any other medical device, may cause side effects. Possible side effects include: vomiting, constipation, nausea.
