Energy lifting: simple exercises for a clear face oval

A graceful chin, outlined cheekbones, radiant skin… We all dream that these features and signs of beauty and youth remain with us as long as possible. How to achieve this, says a specialist in oriental medicine.

In China, to this day, there is an ancient Wu clan, whose women seem to have no age: they retain a youthful appearance until old age – and the secret of this success lies in various practices that help to achieve this. What exactly are they doing?

Taoist masters perform a wide variety of qigong techniques, some of which are quite sophisticated. However, there are also simple exercises for every day.

Let’s turn to them. One of them is the so-called energy washing, the purpose of which is to redirect the currents in bodily tissues. Sound mysterious? Let’s find out!

Against the current

In the Taoist tradition, the body is not seen as a given, not as something fundamental and unchanging, but as a process. That is, they believe that from the moment of conception to death, we literally “flow”, change, transform. The child in the mother’s womb seems to be “folded”, but already in the first weeks of life, he begins to unfold, like an opening bud.

In youth, the body seems to “flow” upward. The shoulders straighten, the chest becomes wider, the head tends to rise, the neck stretches, a proud posture appears. During this period, facial tissues are perfectly renewed – and such a person, as one would expect, looks young.

As we know, this process does not last forever. Gradually, we reach a conditional plateau – and the reverse process starts: the tissues begin to “flow” down. The neck goes a little forward and down, the chest sags so that we stoop …

And if you’ve seen cartoons of old people, you know where this leads: it seems that gravity completely subjugates us.

The task of the Taoist craftswomen, whom we talked about above, is to keep the fabrics flowing upward for as long as possible.

How to keep tissues flowing?

First of all, the quality of tissue flow depends on posture: in a free, flexible, mobile body with a well-built posture, tissues flow upward. Therefore, the first practice in the list of Taoist masters is qigong for the spine Sing Shen Juang.

Next in importance are exercises that raise energy. In the Taoist tradition, it is believed that the supply of qi is located in the lower Dan Tien – the “reservoir” located in the lower abdomen.

If you learn to raise this energy up and effectively start its circulation, then you can keep youth for many years. In addition, female Taoist practices include many different breathing techniques, in particular, the abdominal vacuum (this technique must be mastered with an instructor).

And in third place are the very practices for every day that “remind” the tissues of the need to flow upward.

If the first two methods require an average of an hour of practice per day, then daily energy washing can take no more than five minutes. How to do it?

Exercise for a youthful face for every day

According to Taoist traditional medicine, there are active points in the centers of the palms – Lao Gong. They contain a large energy potential that can carry the flow of qi with it. To activate these points, you need to rub your palms together.

When the feeling of warmth in the centers of the palms becomes stable, open the palms and bring them to the face without touching the skin. A signal that the Lao Gong points are active and ready for exercise will be a feeling of warmth on the skin of the face.

Now imagine that the skin of the face seems to be magnetized to the centers of the palms. Keeping this feeling, begin a gentle movement with your palms – from the chin to the forehead and from the center to the periphery. The movements should be the same as with normal washing.

Perform 30 such movements, lower your hands and imagine your face the way you want it to be. Notice how much more relaxed all the structures of the face have become and how the flow of tissues is now felt.

Such an exercise, no matter how simple it may seem, in combination with qigong practices or even when performed independently, will perfectly complement any cosmetic procedures.
