Endoprosthetics of the buttocks

Buttock arthroplasty is a method of correcting the shape of the buttocks through the use of silicone implants. Asymmetry of the buttocks, distortion of the shape after a sharp loss of weight or childbirth, muscle atrophy, deformity of the buttocks after injury may be an indication for this operation.

Buttock arthroplasty – general information

In their work, plastic surgeons use round and oval (anatomical) implants. Implants using the latest technology are made of high-strength material, which excludes damage to this implant. Buttock implants are textured to reduce the risk of developing fibrosis (hardening of the buttocks). A special gel is used as a filler, which imitates the natural softness and elasticity. In addition, the structure of the gel is such that even if the implant coating is damaged, there is no outflow of the filler.

High aesthetics of work is achieved through the use of modern and reliable technologies. The buttock endoprosthesis is replaced through small incisions, from four to eight centimeters, located in the crease between the buttocks. This allows you to completely hide the postoperative sutures.

Replacement of the buttock endoprosthesis is a full-fledged surgery, so it is necessary to undergo a medical examination aimed at identifying possible contraindications.

Buttock implants are placed under spinal anesthesia or, if indicated, under general anesthesia. Replacement of the buttock endoprosthesis is performed by forming a “pocket” under the gluteal muscle, in which the implant is placed. This technique allows you to get the best aesthetic result.

In the initial postoperative stage, a pain syndrome may appear, which usually stops after the administration of analgesics. The first days after surgery, patients are advised to lie only on their stomach. On the second day, drainage is performed and patients are discharged for outpatient treatment.

At first, the buttocks may look a little swollen, and there may be a slight tingling sensation. All these phenomena disappear two to three weeks after the operation. In the postoperative period, it is recommended to use special round-the-clock compression underwear. It helps to prevent displacement of the implant and deformation of the buttocks. You can return to sports training after consultation with the surgeon one month after the operation. The end result can be assessed six months after the operation.

Preparing for surgery

Buttock arthroplasty is a low-traumatic procedure, and if it is performed by an experienced surgeon, it is completely safe. It should be noted that modern implants are of high quality, made of durable non-toxic materials and do not require further replacement. Manufacturers confirm the safety of prostheses with a lifetime warranty.

Preparation before the operation is standard. The doctor prescribes a number of tests and diagnostics in order to avoid unforeseen consequences of the operation. The list of tests includes fluorography, electrocardiogram, complete blood count, blood test for AIDS, hepatitis and coagulation, general urinalysis.

Since anesthesia is used for the operation, allergy tests are additionally performed. Surgical intervention is carried out on an empty stomach (the last meal should be at least 6 hours before the operation). For a week, you need to completely abandon alcohol, for a day do not take drugs that increase blood pressure and thin the blood.

During the preparation period, the doctor also chooses implants. Implants are somewhat reminiscent of breast implants, only they are much stronger.

Based on what needs to be corrected in the buttocks, the surgeon selects the shape of the endoprostheses and size (length, width, thickness) and determines their placement. The result of the procedure directly depends on the correct choice of the type of endoprosthesis and its placement.

Contraindications and complications after surgery

Endoprosthetics is a surgical procedure, therefore, in addition to indications, it also has a number of contraindications, including:

  • a variety of disorders of the functioning of the central nervous system (neurosis, depression, etc.);
  • arteriosclerosis of blood vessels;
  • predisposition to edema, obesity, diabetes mellitus;
  • HIV infection;
  • previously installed implants in the buttocks;
  • other surgical interventions performed (at least six months must elapse between operations);
  • a weakened immune system;
  • acute inflammatory process in the body;
  • acute respiratory diseases;
  • diseases of the gastrointestinal tract in an acute form;
  • the period after a heart attack or stroke (at least 9 months must pass);
  • chronic or acute heart failure (tachycardia, bradycardia, arrhythmia, etc.);
  • age less than eighteen years (surgeons do not recommend this procedure for persons not even up to 18, but up to 25 years, since until this time there has been an active growth of the body and muscle mass).

It is worth noting that a XNUMX% contraindication to this procedure is pregnancy and the period of breastfeeding. After all, anesthesia can negatively affect the course of pregnancy, the development of the fetus and the hormonal background of a woman. It should be noted that the changed hormonal background of a woman can provoke rejection of the endoprosthesis.

In any case, you need to tell the doctor about your state of health, and in no case hide anything in order to eliminate the risk of complications.

There are pros and cons of buttock arthroplasty. “Pros”: the ability to get the buttocks of the desired shape, there is no need to replace endoprostheses, they have a lifetime warranty, rare side effects, environmentally friendly endoprostheses and buttocks after surgery have a natural look.

“Cons”: anesthesia adversely affects the body, there is a small risk of infection, if the doctor is not sufficiently qualified, there is a risk of developing serious complications, the cost of the procedure is high, the risk of side effects is small, but there is.
