Endiex is a medicine for acute bacterial diarrhea without symptoms of a general infection (travelers’ diarrhea, food diarrhea, gastroenteritis). The active substance of the preparation is nifuroxazide, which inhibits the activity of bacterial enzymes. The drug is in the form of capsules for oral administration and is available without a prescription.

ACTION
Endiex is an antibacterial drug, a derivative of nitrofuran.
Endiex – indications and dosage
Endiex is a preparation recommended in acute bacterial diarrhea without symptoms of general infection:
- travelers’ diarrhea
- food diarrhea,
- gastroenteritis.
Dosage
Endiex is in the form of capsules to be taken by mouth. Do not exceed the recommended dose as it may endanger your life or health. Treatment with the preparation should not exceed 7 days.
- Adults. 800 mg / d in 4 doses division
- Children after 6 years of age. 600 mg / d in 3 doses division
Endiex and contraindications
Contraindications to taking Endiex are:
- allergy to any component of the preparation or nitrofuran derivatives,
- no glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase,
- giving the drug to children up to 6 years of age.
Endiex – warnings
- In the event of diarrhea lasting longer than 3 days, its worsening and suspicion that an infection of a general course may have occurred, a doctor should be consulted.
- During the treatment, it is important to hydrate the patient and replenish electrolytes.
- When taking the preparation, it is recommended to follow a diet that excludes juices, raw vegetables, fruit, hard to digest and spicy dishes.
- In the event of an allergic reaction in the form of dyspnea, rash or pruritus, treatment should be discontinued.
- Alcohol should not be consumed during treatment with the drug.
- Pregnant and breastfeeding women should not take the drug due to a lack of information on its safety.
Endiex with other drugs
Drinking alcohol during treatment with Endiex increases the risk of:
- diarrhea
- vomiting
- stomach aches.
Endiex – side effects
When using Endiex, the following may appear:
- rash,
- itching
- Haemolytic anemia may develop in patients with hereditary deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase.
