– On March 28, the obligation to isolate people infected with the coronavirus disappears in Poland, as well as quarantine for family members and people coming to Poland – the Minister of Health announced on Thursday. What does this mean for people who test positive?
As explained by Adam Niedzielski, he decided to abolish home isolation and quarantine for housemates, as well as all quarantines related to the entry to Poland. – Two caveats remain: patients who are identified as infected will normally be referred for sick leave. Being aware of the danger, they will have to isolate themselves at home, but these isolations will no longer be managed by the Sanepid – explained the head of the Ministry of Health.
End of quarantine and isolation
– The second reservation is that if there are outbreaks, the Department of Health and Safety may still impose quarantine and isolation. However, these tools will be used in special situations – said Niedzielski.

—Can a person who tests positive be able to go to work? One of the journalists asked during the conference. – Going to work would be irresponsible – replied Adam Niedzielski. – If the doctor decides, he will issue a sick leave and impose home isolation – explained Niedzielski. – We want to treat COVID-19 in the same way as any other infectious disease. If we are sick, the doctor sends us on sick leave, and we, as the responsible persons, decide on it – added Wojciech Andrusiewicz, spokesman for the Ministry of Health.

What if someone takes the test but doesn’t reveal the result because they don’t want to go on leave? One of the journalists asked about private entrepreneurs who may not be able to get sick leave. “From April 1, tests will be performed only on medical orders,” said the Minister of Health.
In conclusion, the obligation of home isolation for those infected will disappear. However, the ministry urges those who receive confirmation that they are infected with the coronavirus to follow the rules of sick leave and to behave responsibly by staying at home.
