How to eliminate the unpleasant smell of chicken meat

Rinse the chicken in cold running water, remove fat from the carcass – it can be the source of this unpleasant smell. Try to rinse the poultry gently to avoid splashing; micro-droplets of water can easily spread bacteria from the meat throughout the kitchen. That is why it is generally not advised to wash chicken, meat and fish.

Cut the chicken into pieces and soak for a couple of hours in a weak potassium permanganate solution… You can soak chicken meat for 3-4 hours in a cold salt water: For 1 liter of water, add 2 tablespoons with a heap of coarse table salt. And if you put another small piece of charcoal in such water – literally the size of a chicken egg, the effect will increase.

Another way: put the meat in the broth pharmacy chamomile… It is prepared like this: a tablespoon of chamomile is brewed with a glass of boiling water, then the broth is diluted in a liter of cold water.

To avoid an unpleasant smell, it is better to store the meat wrapped in parchment or paper, and on top of it – in a napkin dipped in saline.

A good result gives mustard… Thoroughly coat each piece with it on all sides, put them in a bowl, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for several hours. You can also grate chicken with a mixture of sugar and salt. You can also mix spices and herbs found in your home. Rub the chicken pieces with salt and sprinkle them with this mixture, leave for 1 hour at room temperature.

Garlic can also eliminate the bad or strange smell of chicken meat suffocated in the bag. Cut two or three cloves into quarters and sprinkle the chicken pieces with them, adding salt. Pass a couple of large cloves of garlic through a press, mix with salt and black pepper, coat the chicken pieces and put them in the refrigerator for 2 hours.

Another technological technique that helps to get rid of the unpleasant odor from any meat is pickling. For the marinade, you can use, in addition to spices and herbs, wine vinegar, dry red wine or freshly squeezed juice of half a lemon. Don’t forget to add salt and marinade. Stir the chicken pieces with the marinade so that it completely covers each one, and let stand for 2-3 hours in the refrigerator.

It is not enough to buy healthy chicken, you also need to cook it so that it does not turn into harmful. Before cooking, you need to remove the skin, as toxins accumulate in it. I do not recommend grilling meat as it becomes carcinogenic. The best cooking methods are boiling, baking, steaming.

Give preference to free-range farm chickens that grow in natural conditions. Chicken meat is a product of increased consumer demand, many manufacturers use different ways to accelerate the growth and increase the weight of birds, therefore antibiotics and other unpleasant additives are sometimes found in the product. They can spoil meat in the store: stale chicken is sometimes soaked in a special solution to give it a fresh look.
