Elena Kamburova: “It is better to light one candle than to curse the darkness”

When it’s hard, it’s important not to dwell on your dull thoughts, but go to people, give, help – and the world becomes better, and it becomes easier for you.

“Although critics sometimes refer to me as a “singer of sorrow,” I am an optimist by nature and always prefer action to moaning. Despite the fact that much in the intonations of today cannot but upset me. Saved by a job you love. Every time I go on stage, I feel this candle flame. In general, you can always replace grumbling with some kind, creative deed. If you are sad, then go, plant flowers in front of the house, look after them, watch them – this is already a source of joy. Just don’t dwell on your dull thoughts, go out to people, help someone, and you will see that the world will become a better place. I maintain peace of mind with the help of ikebana, which I have been fond of for many years. Poetry also gives me support – it is not only in poetry, but also in the ability to see the unusual. I used to sew patchwork clowns and give them to friends and acquaintances. After all, clowns exist to bring joy.
