Electronic cigarettes during pregnancy – harm from use

It is believed that e-cigarettes are safer during pregnancy. But this is fundamentally wrong. Electronic cigarettes work like this: they contain capsules containing a liquid that evaporates when exposed to high temperatures. This vapor mimics cigarette smoke and is inhaled by e-cigarette smokers.

Is there nicotine in e-cigarette vapor?

The liquid in an e-cigarette capsule is not always harmless. The problem is that most e-cigarettes are manufactured in China without proper quality control.

Electronic cigarettes are contraindicated in pregnancy

The e-cigarette during pregnancy is a dangerous hobby, as many of them are nicotine-containing, which is not always reported by manufacturers.

Thus, harmful substances continue to enter the bloodstream, but at a lower dosage. And during pregnancy, the fetus also consumes them.

The effect of the vapor of an electronic cigarette on the body of a pregnant woman

Smoking while carrying a child leads to malformations and developmental delays:

  • deprives the body of the mother and fetus of vitamins;
  • increases the risk of chromosomal abnormalities;
  • slows down blood circulation in the placenta.

Women who use nicotine are more prone to toxicosis, dizziness, shortness of breath.

A significant part of the toxins is filtered by the placenta. This leads to her premature aging, which can lead to premature birth or miscarriage. Carrying a baby is more difficult than non-smokers.

Electronic cigarettes have come into use relatively recently, so there are still no exact results of a study of the consequences of their use. But we should not forget that a lot is known about the dangers of nicotine, so we can say with confidence that when a future mother smokes an electronic cigarette, the amount of harmful substances entering the blood of her child will still be exceeded hundreds of times than that of a nonsmoking woman. And smoking an electronic cigarette also contributes to the appearance in a child:

  • nervous disorders;
  • heart disease;
  • kosolaposti;
  • obesity.

It should be noted that these children find it more difficult to study at school. Inhaling toxic air, a woman runs the risk of exposing the child to lung diseases:

  • bronchitis;
  • bronchial asthma;
  • pneumonia.

Purposeful experiments on expectant mothers are prohibited. But cigarette manufacturers in the instructions warn about the dangers of exposure to smoke on laboratory animals.

The unequivocal conclusion – an electronic cigarette during pregnancy is categorically contraindicated.
