Brief history of the enterprise

The company began its work back in 1876 in St. Petersburg. At that time, the company was called differently – “Slavic Brewery” – and was mainly engaged in the production of beer.

In addition to the foamy alcoholic drink, the assortment included mineral water, honey and kvass.

The production of wines and champagne at the plant began after the end of the war – in 1945.

After the reconstruction, a new production line was launched, and the cellars built in the XNUMXth century were so well preserved that no redevelopment was required.

The first bottle of the famous “Soviet champagne” was produced at the plant in 1947.

Production volumes of the new drink grew rapidly and after 20 years reached 5 million copies a year. The production of dessert wines has also started.

At the end of the XNUMXth century, the enterprise received its modern name and, along with it, a large-scale modernization of workshops, which made it possible to increase export volumes. A few years later, the production of cognacs was established.

Recently CJSC “Igristye Vina” has been actively expanding its range of products. The result of this work was the creation of new lines of wines, as well as the release of whiskey. One of the popular collections is El Paso products.

Features of the selection of raw materials and production

The company does not have its own vineyards, therefore, for the production of wines, fruits are purchased from suppliers from different countries: in Australia, Europe, South Africa, Russia, the New World.

The company’s specialists are engaged in the selection of grapes every year, traveling to wineries and examining the future harvest.

To evaluate raw materials, a whole range of factors is used, starting with natural and climatic factors and ending with the history of plantations.

After the selection of farms, constant monitoring of the processes of ripening and harvesting of fruits is carried out.

At the manufacturing stage, the quality of products is continuously assessed: modern laboratory equipment is used for these purposes.

Due to the favorable location and close proximity to the port, the delivery of ready-made drinks is carried out quickly, without additional risks and does not require significant costs, which makes the products of CJSC Igristye Vina available to the consumer.

The line includes 8 types of table wines, united by a common theme, from classic European grape varieties.

The products are dedicated to sunny Argentina, as evidenced by colorful labels with images of the picturesque streets of the hot country.

Others criticize for dubious taste characteristics: “too tart and sour taste”, “heavy wine”, “cheap sour wines with preservatives”.

The main part of the negative reviews refers to dry red wines, white and semi-sweet ones were to the taste of most tasters.

If you are going to try El Paso wines, you should not forget that they belong to the economy segment, so it is incorrect to compare their characteristics with drinks of the high price segment.
