Eggs recipe a la Villaroy, simple and very spectacular
The egg is one of the most versatile products that we have within our gastronomy
Preparing fried eggs or an omelette is quite attractive, since they are rich and easy dishes to prepare.
Now, from time to time, you want to make more elaborate dishes. And that is exactly our intention today. Using, of course, the egg as the protagonist.
What are the Eggs a la Villaroy?
The star dish of today’s post is Villaroy eggs, which are not very difficult to prepare, but they do require a little time. Let’s start, yes, by explaining what cooking the Villarroy style consists of: Basically, it is the result of dipping one or more ingredients in a béchamel sauce, then breading them and thus obtaining a crunchy but creamy preparation on the inside.
To prepare the béchamel you will need the following ingredients:
- 500 ml whole milk
- 40 gr de harina
- 40 grams of butter
- Nutmeg molina
- Ground black pepper
- A pinch of salt
To make the boiled eggs the following:
- 8 eggs
- White vinegar
- Sal Island
And for the breading:
- 100 gr of wheat flour
- 1 egg
- 200 gr breadcrumbs
- Sal Island
- Frying oil
How to make delicious Eggs a la Villaroy?
In total, 14 ingredients. And, as for its preparation, you must follow the following 14 steps:
Let’s start by explaining how to make the bechamel sauce:
- Melt the butter in a saucepan.
- Add the 40 grams of flour and cook for about 3 minutes.
- Use another saucepan to boil milk with a little pepper, nutmeg and salt.
- Once the milk in the first saucepan is cooked, add the milk at once.
- And finally, let the saucepan boil for about 5 minutes, while stirring the mixture constantly with a few rods.
As for the preparation of the eggs, you just have to:
- Place a saucepan with boiling water and a splash of vinegar.
- Pour the eggs into the saucepan and let them cook for about 5 minutes.
- And, once cool, peel them very carefully.
Finally, we go with the breading:
- Prepare three bowls: the first with flour, the second with the beaten egg and a pinch of salt, and the third with breadcrumbs.
- Now, use a tray to place, with the help of a spoon, a little bit of béchamel sauce.
- Top with a hard-boiled egg, and cover it with more béchamel.
- Next, very carefully, you have to cover the entire egg with the béchamel sauce, pass it through flour, then through the beaten egg and, finally, through the breadcrumbs.
- Repeat this process for each egg.
- And, to finish, fry the eggs, about two minutes, in a frying pan with a lot of oil or deep fryer.
