Eggplant – health properties

Eggplant is otherwise known as a love pear or eggplant. From a botanical point of view, eggplant is not a vegetable, but a fruit – a berry to be exact.

In addition, in eggplant you can find potassium, copper, magnesium, vitamin C, vitamin K and B vitamins. It also provides the body with dietary fiber, phytosterols and antioxidants. It has a high content of mineral salts, especially calcium and phosphorus, as well as glucose and fiber.

Antioxidants – anthocyanins and nasunins. Anthocyanins are mainly found in the skin of vegetables – they are also responsible for the color of eggplants. Nasunina neutralizes free radicals, thanks to which it has anti-aging properties.

It also has an anti-cancer effect – showing an anti-angiogenic effect (inhibits the formation of new blood vessels in the body) – thanks to which it supports the proper functioning of the blood system. In addition, thanks to chlorogenic acid and fiber, eggplant has properties that improve metabolism, detoxify, lower blood pressure and cholesterol.

Australian natural medicine believes that eggplant has healing properties against skin cancer. They prepare the eggplant medicine with the addition of vinegar. Such a mixture contains phytochemicals, specifically glycoalkaloids and glycosides, which penetrate deep into the cells to fight cancer.

However, it should be remembered that it is not allowed to eat eggplant raw, due to the toxic solanine contained in it.

Eggplant – a pear of love

Eggplant is considered an aphrodisiac that stimulates the sex drive and strengthens the sexual organs. All thanks to arginine, an organic chemical compound from the group of amino acids.

Arginine increases the body’s ability to exercise, relaxes the muscles of the blood vessels, thanks to which the sexual organs are better supplied with blood and, at the same time, more sensitive to sexual stimuli. It has a positive effect not only on potency, but also on the heart and blood vessels.

It is also recommended for people who want to cleanse their body. The properties of eggplant have a detoxifying and detoxifying effect and reduce water retention in the body.

However, be careful with the form of preparation of the eggplant. Unfortunately, it is often fried in oil or olive oil, which increases its caloric content rapidly, as the eggplant flesh absorbs large amounts of fat. It is recommended to eat eggplant baked or grilled. Many people complain of the bitterness of the eggplant flavor. To do this, salt the peeled and chopped eggplant and set aside for a few minutes. Salt will strip it of its unpleasant taste.
